NEW X5 on the way!! Sooo guys finally we've sold the E320 and have a new X5 on the way. It's a 3.0 Diesel Executive Sport in space grey with the two tone camel/black interior. It should be in our driveway by mid-may. So exciting!! While we were looking to order a vehicle: space grey, saddle brown/black interior, Hi Fi sound system, comfort seats, rear air suspension, the order would have taken around 4 months. The vehicle we have coming in May misses out on the comfort seats and Hi Fi sound system but comes with the DVD package, aluminum running boards, 7 seats (with rear air suspension) and delivery within a month. The great deal we got on the car was the icing on the cake with most BMW dealers not budging on the price. It's very exciting. While there are BMW's in our extended family, this would be the first BMW my mum and dad have owned in over 20 years. We looked veeerry closely at the Mercedes ML, and unfortunately against the X5 it just didn't stack up in our minds. The X5 truly is a fantastic car!! My only concern with the vehicle we do have coming is the sound system. I believe it's only a 6 speaker system and from what I've heard BMW systems aren't that good. Does anybody with experience know more about the system or advice on improving it? Will post a comparison between the ML and X5 later on...but for now back to work. ![]() P.S Now our garage is truly fair to the 3 luxury Germans: My Audi A3, Mum's CLK240, Dad's X5 3.0D and my sisters Honda Civic parked outside. ![]() Last edited by Mr. Mercedes; 04-23-2007 at 01:26 AM..

Re: NEW X5 on the way!! Ha ha noooo I do . Dad is a Mercedes man through and through and was hell bent on the ML, even though I could see he was more impressed with the X5. But it still took A LOT of convincing on my part to sway him to BMW. ![]()

Re: NEW X5 on the way!! Congrats. I think your father made a great choice. IMO the X5 is the most balanced German SUV.

Re: NEW X5 on the way!! No the Audi was not even a consideration. The resale values are very unproven (big audi's historically drop like a bomb) and the consensus in our family was universal: The front looks wicked, but the back is not that nice. It looks like a station wagon on steroids. Also, the BMW really has Audi matched on interior build and quality with this new X5. Thanks guys!
