That's true, the CSL is a good chunk lighter but that makes it much faster than the standard model and i'd assume that what makes it suck more gas. Other than that i can't really say anymore, i'm just the reporter

Considering Sport Auto is very strict on consistency the answer would be yes. Although it should be mentioned a number of these vehicles are tested multiple times and come up with different results, but from what i've seen the petrol figures are very consistent, i usually choose the supertest, which is where both of the figures for the SLK55 and C55 come from.

That's over...back on topic. The reason the CSL consumes more gas is because of the higher compression engine with more bhp.

I can't do the exact conversion, but i can tell you, for example 20.1 Litres is 5.31 U.S Gallons and 4.42 gallons.

So the CCR uses an average of 5.31 (or 4.42 UK gallons) every 62 miles. Hope this helps a little
