That's what i meant by track tempature. Air temp, asphalt temp. Agreed with the atmospheric too, i am to believe extreme hot weather tempatures can slow vehicles down due to the engine's breathing.

Anyways you guys seem to know a lot more about EVO's test track and drivers than i do, i'm a Sport Auto man.

Re: Bedford Autodrome Lap Times - EVO

Someone please educate me on the sport chassis option. We get the option to fit 19" wheels down here but I've not heard of a sportier chassis setting...

What mods does the option entail? Stiffer, lowered suspension, stiffer anti-roll bars? I just don't know...

Re: Bedford Autodrome Lap Times - EVO

Both RS4 testes

http://germancarzone.com/showthread.php?t=2699

RS4 vs m3 vs C55
http://germancarzone.com/showthread.php?t=2417

This is what I meant earlier:

The way you can use the M3's tail to point the car into the apex is very effective, particulary through Bank and the last two corners. It would've have gone quicker had it not been delivered on new tyres."

Its too bad that testers dont think about ta thing like the "new tires on M3" before they test the cars properly. Now we dont know what time the M3 would get with proper tires

Re: Bedford Autodrome Lap Times - EVO

Guys, I hope this thread doesn't turn into another RS4 vs M3 vs C55 type of thread. My intention was to point out the degree of "accuracty/precision" with laptimes such as these, and I used the different RS4 times on the same track and the very close times between some cars as examples.

Im not 100% sure but I assume it stiffen up the chassi (even without the sportchassi, the chassi is already stiff (speaking of personal experience) so I dont see why someone order with the sportchassi but I guess its for those who use their RS4 a lot on a track.

can you get ceramic brakes on the RS4 where you live?

Crazy - you're quite right of course - as if an RS4 chassis isn't stiff enough or lowered enough. Can there possibly be the need for a sportier chassis?!?

Nope, I don't think we get the ceramic brakes option here in SA to the best of my knowledge.

Re: Bedford Autodrome Lap Times - EVO

Wow the Cayman is a beat, barely a second slower than the Vantage, M6 and 996TT. now if only Porsche would give it a 450hp engine to that we could see its full potential.

I think the Quattroporte is doing very well among these sedans... It's heavy (1970kg) and it has 'only' 400bhp. However, its prowess at the track sacrifices its practicality on the road. The gearbox is the main concern here.

In that regard, cars like the RS4 and the M5 offer a better balance of sport and practicality.
