I know but warmer asphalt the laptime would be improved. One other thing sportauto reacted on is that the speedlimit is already at 258km/h on the M6, when sportauto drove the M5 the speedlimit was at 269km/h. So the speedlimit is also the reason why the laptime wasnt "much" better. for an extra cost the speedlimit is raised to 305km/h, too bad the tested M6 didnt have this upgrade.

0-100 in 4.2 sec
0-200 in 12.8 sec

for the M6

So to get the maximum grip out of the tires the asphalt/ the track need to be warmer and unfortuanly when the M6 was tested, the track was cold.
If the M6 was tested during summer or if the road was warmer, they would cut the laptime by several seconds. So a 8 minute laptime isnt impossible with the Pirelli tires during the right conditions. Unfortuanly we will never know if the M6 isnt tested again.

the same goes for CLK-DTM but Sportauto has never tested the CLK-DTM twice so it probably wont happen for M6 either
F***.
P Zero Corsas can make a big diference, just look at the Aston time.

the aston dont use Pirelli, the car used Bridgestone and those tires arent allround like Pirellis.

Was the M3 CSL tested on R compound tires as well? I'm pretty sure the car came standard with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tires.

I'd say under 8 seconds is overly optimistic for the RS4 considering its engine and weight. You didn't have to say it twice either, hehe. I know that Pirelli P Zero Corsas are optional on the RS4 which will help lap times.

Re: Officiell SportAuto Nordschleife laptimes

I take it back about the RS4 not being able to get under 8 seconds. I thought about it again and it may be able to just barely make it with the R compounds.

we'll see. Two different drivers so it doesnt mean Sportauto can pull it off.

Re: Officiell SportAuto Nordschleife laptimes

New info.

According to Sportauto:

- the speedlimit is set to 259km/h thats why it takes 8.09 min around Nordschleife. If the car was fitted with M-package (topspeed raised to 305km/h) it would probably cut several seconds.

- The intensity of the Servotronic support depends on speed and revs. Result: The steering feels perfect.

- Even if fitted with the Pirellis the M6 does a good job on the wet handling course. That speaks for the well balanced nature of the M6.

- The Pirellis have more grip but the Contis are more good-natured and more comfortable to drive.
