If it is safety of AWD that you are after, I am sure a 911 4S or the new GTR would offer you the same. Don't get me wrong, I love the R8 and would love to own one - as long as I don't think about the price tag.

I think the R8 is way more special than a 4S... but then again, so is the price...

The R8 beats the 911 arounds most tracks. The 'ring just wasnt one of them. Oh and teh audi is exclusive, 911's are everywere, nearly as common as BMW's in london.
