Re: Officiell SportAuto Nordschleife laptimes

well the 7:52 time is according to BMW. yes that was a joke about "track time marketing". I just think thats a huge difference and maybe he could have done better and maybe not. I have heard that the M5 is faster than the CSL in many ways and should be faster around this Track considering the some of the straits but I DONT KNOW. its just speculation.

the time wasnt from BMW, just a french magazine claiming so. First BMw said around 8 minutes, later BMW testdriver said 8.07 min. And those times that comes from factory, we dont know anything about the car they tested and if it was tested the way the car is when leaving the factory.
Matt, trust me, noone mistrust HvS and Sportauto, he always does his best

Re: Officiell SportAuto Nordschleife laptimes

actually im not entirely facetious with that statement . Ferrari does have a "better than thou" aroma to them. To me it seems like the ferrari is about getting "laid" Vs. a lambo, which is soley about performance. It seems to be a car for a fifty year old dude with a ton of Gel in his hair in his middle age chrisis. Lamborghini is more "my style", pure performance. Ferrari is way too Gucci.

Re: Officiell SportAuto Nordschleife laptimes

yeah i know.. lambo is far more appealing to me.. especially with these latest rather wierd looking ferrari´s..
I would only visit a ferrari dealer if they produced a car that absolutely outshines the competetion by far.. otherwise i would take my buisness elsewhere..

PS
It would be fun if a Ferrar CEO read these comments.. im sure he is a a-hole like the rest.. and he wouldnt give a damn..

Yes he does. He always mention if there are any defects during test, temperature (Air), temperature (Asphalt) and air pressure. He also tell us if the car used R-tires or not.

He also tell us if the laptime could be improved and what could be done to improve the laptime.
When he tested SLK55 he said that the laptime could be improved if the ESP didnt interfered too much, for the CLK-DTM is he said that the laptime could be improved if the weather was warmer cause the car used R-tires and R-tires need a warm asphalt to be really useful.

So yes I would say his information is very detailed.
