That's what I tought... tks Mike!

Radars are illegal here as well, and I believe it's the same penalty if you get caught... so I never dared to look into it, let alone use one.

Re: Radar Detectors. The best?

i don't know if they are illigal here, too, but they are useless to me. I only speed in certain roads that i know very good. So, i know all the spots that cops place their radars, so i slow down before these spots and then speed again.

BTW, i was on a 3-day trip with my gf, and another friend of mine (with his gf). We went to northern Greece, in a place that i had never been before. Actually it was not as good as i expected, but i reached S60's limits. I refilled it three times (in three days) and i reached about 180km/h in the roads there. Going there, we had to drive on a mountain. And the roads were full of curves. My friend who has a 318ci, and was driving ahead of me, entered each curve sideways. my gf went crazy. she had never seen something like this before... I enjoyed it very much. And plus i didn't get any speeding ticket...

Re: Radar Detectors. The best?

They are a nice little thing to have.

Alex I didn't know that the upgrade was just for the shipping, but I must say I have been surfing ebay and I have put in some old serial numbers and they have come up to more than $75. I might be wrong and I will try it again later.

I see that some of you voted for the Bell and the Escort. Any comments on those?

Alex, and to whomever else has posted, I am considering the Valentine I just am wondering why some people have put the Escort and the Bell. Maybe they like it better than the V1.

True it is.

Alex could you tell me what your opinion is on the V1? Have you tried any others?

Carbon is on a distinguished road
Re: Radar Detectors. The best?

I haven't really tried more than one, but I vote V1 because it does usually perform the best or close to the best, and it seems like it's made more durable and with higher quality than the others. The arrows are a great feature as well.

Your tint will hinder radar detector performance if it's a metallic film type as far as I know.

You see that is exactly my problem. I am not sure if it is a metallic film type. How can you tell?

Re: Radar Detectors. The best?

Ive had a few, they all have false alarms, and its hard too tell which is better, but i have had CObra's, Bell, Escort being my second fav. The V1 i like for the direction of the cops coming from, and the count, other than that, its hard to tell for me which is better.... Its just my preference...

I have got tickets, with radars ON, numerous times....
