Danke Christ. It was expected to see the 335i engine on the list

but I will wait for this jury and their choices. The link posted is to the biggest engine award:

obvious choice made by people who carry a lot of fat and have zero technical expertise and are interested in sheer size

I think the choices are fairly sensible.

I have to agree, 90% of the journalists in the automotive press are totaly ignorants about the technical aspect of engines.

Re: 2008 Best Engine Of the Year Award Winners

vabboud's why or why not this is right one liners!

• Audi AG: FSI 2.0L turbocharged DOHC I-4 (Audi A3)
deserving engine although the TFSI models are far better from all views

• BMW AG: 3.0L turbocharged DOHC I-6 (335i Coupe)
no comment

• Daimler AG: 3.0L DOHC V-6 Turbodiesel (Mercedes E320 CDI)
this is here because it is the only US sold diesel, there are many better diesels.

• Ford Motor Co.: 4.6L SOHC V-8 (Mustang Shelby GT/Bullitt)
SOHC in 2007? throw in a carburator!

• General Motors Corp.: 3.6L DOHC V-6 (Cadillac CTS)
a commendable effort by cadillac still short of the 21st century mark.

• General Motors Corp.: 6.0L OHV V-8 Hybrid (GMC Yukon Hybrid)
hybrid? my ass! HAHAHAHAHA

• Honda Motor Co. Ltd.: 3.5L SOHC V-6 (Accord Coupe)
how about that stirling steam engine?

• Mazda Motor Corp.: 2.3L DISI turbocharged DOHC I-4 (Mazdaspeed3)
nice effort by mazda, sweet engine, and should be reliable enough.

• Nissan Motor Co. Ltd.: 3.7L DOHC V-6 (Infiniti G37)
nissan knows its V6's, and this is no exception

• Toyota Motor Corp.: 3.5L DOHC V-6 (Lexus IS 350)
you can't have a 10 item list without having a 10th item
