The key phrase is "the first of" the unlimted AMG.......meaning there are more coming. Yippie. What next a SL or SLR? Likely the SLR.

How many will be built and what price will it get? Huge price gap between ordinary SLK55 and this?

Ok, the price is 107,300 Euros, more than a CLS 55
This is a car for people with money and think the ordinary SLK55 isnt hardcore enough. A lot of money for a little Roadster but hey there are always people with some money over to spend on a car

Looks great, I like it. It seem to be a perfect car for those who can't get their hands on a CLK DTM, though I have to say that the price is a bit of a turn off. For 107,300 Euros you can get a GT3 or 911s cab. Any performance figures?*can't get into worldcarfans.com*

0.4 sec faster to 100km/h and 2.0 seconds faster to 200km/h than regular SLK55. R-tires available without extra charge.

Pretty quick but I still don't feel that it is worth paying that much for a folding metal roof.

True, I misread the article, sorry. Then if it doesn't have an article than I really don't see why anyone would by it instead of a GT3.

Yup, I guess this is the start of AMG's mission to bring in some more "hardcore" and "focused" vehicles for track enthusiasts. The price preimium is high, and we don't know how many markets this car will be available in. Somehow, I don't think North America will get this car......surprise me AMG, surpirse me.....
