The coveted award this year went to Audi and its R8 super-sports car after it was picked for as the best all-round package by a panel of experts. The Audi R8 was picked because it was considered the most complete vehicle with the hottest body in the sports segment and, despite being a newcomer, displayed no serious weaknesses. The trophy was presented to Werner Frowein, Managing Director of quattro GmbH, during the magazine’s “Race Night”, which formed part of the Essen Motor Show.
