| R.I.P. Audi R8. from Autoblog.com: "While there were some R8s that burned in the development phase, Audi worked hard to massage the platform and make it production ready. These pictures are reportedly not a mule, but a production R8 that went up in flames. Scuttlebutt has it that fuel spillage was the culprit here, though speculation of something else is also offered if you click through and read the related thread on the R8talk forum. Either way, it's a tragic end to this particular R8's short life. Of course, in the end, it's only a car, so as long as everyone escaped unharmed, it's not even a blip on the cosmic scale." ![]() ![]() ![]() |

| So Sad: Audi R8 mysteriously burns. While there were some R8s that burned in the development phase, Audi worked hard to massage the platform and make it production ready. | Re: R.I.P. Audi R8. It is a bit surprising to see another Audi going up in smoke. I hope it has nothing to do with poor engineering. "Even a Kia/Hyundai last longer than this piece of crap, Audi fanboys read my lipp Audi will NEVER be as realible as Toyota and Lexus." The burnt R8 will still worth more than a brand new Kia/Hyundai. Audi will never be as realible as Toyota and Lexus and Audi doesn't care. "Yeah that right I'm going to a big deal about it because this car suppose to in the supercar league. And if this was a Lexus LF-A you German fanboys will flame it to death. So I'm just doing the opposite, I guess the Audi R8 will be off many shopper list now. Might as well wait for the more power and faster Lexus LF-A with 570 hp." What is the point of having a faster car when nobody will notice or buy one. "Audi R8=inferior, unrealiable, cheap ripp off Lambo, Audi you really need to include a fire extinguisher on your Audi R8 to prevent this from happening again." Audi owns Lambo, someone should tell him that, and the R8's aluminium space frame is actually more rigid with less parts and less connection than the Lambo Gallardo. Go tell them Christian. |
