Thumbs up New Mercedes advertisement - R-Class / 600 Pullmann

So, Mercedes start a new advertisement campaign. This was in our newspaper (the paper above has the dimension of two DIN A4 papers - so you can imagine, how big the large one is... )...

"Think at the first car, that overawe you"

Re: new Mercedes advertisement - R-Class

Well, i guess they've failed with that new way of showing size...

Sorry, i just had to...

Plus, i think they screwed up big time with using that old Benz as reference car. That car was something and will never be forgotten, while R class... I know many true MB enthusiasts that wish it never saw the light of the day.

Re: new Mercedes advertisement - R-Class / 600 Pullmann

I have to agree that the comparison is quite lame. It gives an impression that MB is ready to do anything to get some publicity for their R-Class.

True, even if that include making fool of themselves...

I mean, come on! Pullman with R class?

Not necessarily, if it looked like the concept it would have been great.

When I saw the 600 Pullmann, I thought: "Great commercial for the S 600 or the new Bluetec models"...but then, I saw the R-Class...good idea, but the advert is for the wrong car.

Re: New Mercedes advertisement - R-Class / 600 Pullmann

You can't compare an R-Class to a Pullman. Which advertising company came up with this bull? And which executive at MB agreed to it?

I saw this too in my latest Auto Motor und Sport. I didn't think too much of it then, but I did think about it afterwards and it's a dumb comparison.

Give me the 600 anyday.
