| Autoextremist article on the automotive industry. Autoextremist is well know for it's critical commentary on news and developments in the auto industry. This time Peter DeLorenzo takes on the whole automotive industry including Audi of course: Audi has started to gain serious momentum in this market, but they're still plagued by less-than-stellar quality reports. Audi has been hovering around the periphery of the top European luxury class in America for so long that it's easy to take them for granted as being a perennial second-tier player, not quite ready for prime time as defined by BMW and Mercedes. But that would be a mistake. Audi has the will, the technical know-how and the desire to fight for their place in the serious luxury spectrum - and I believe they will emerge as a top-tier player in the next 24 months. | Re: Autoextremist article on the automotive industry. Great article Yannis (karma added )Things still look bad for DaimlerChrysler .....it will be interesting to see what happens there. I don't think selling off Chrysler is an option ...because, for a start, who would want to buy it -- the Chinese government? ![]() He is absolutely correct about Mercedes-Benz ...I agree 100% ..the GL and R class are just plain boring rubbish. Oh and Roberto the R and GL aren't rubbish either. The R might not be what the market wanted, but the GL is a hit and though the large SUV party may be over to a degree MB had the thing on the drawing board before gas got so high here. Mercedes can't do squat right in his eyes. They're faulted for adding technology yet when Lexus does it is ok. Then if Mercedes didn't offer the tech they'd be faulted for NOT having it compared to Lexus and BMW. M | |
