If a Finnish resident were to register a car in a foreign country and use it here, they'd have to pay the car tax in double if (when) they would get caught. I don't know what the system is in other high-tax countries but I'd assume they have something similar to discourage people from trying to cheat the state.

it doesnt metter, you will be registrated to drive the COMPANY Car of Vanuatu company and you are also nottarized for that......as I said it works perfect, there is cca 600.000 cars registrated there already and only 2000 domestic cars....

This is the point, Mike... That's why i didn't understand you... You must open a off-shore company 1st and then register the car. In that case - no double tax.

Re: Register car in Vanuatu and avoid high taxes , check here >

If i would like to buy a luxury car i would definitely register it here. ***, i want my money to stay in my coutry, not enrich the lives of some people in vanuatu, which i don't know where the heck is.

This whole thing makes me angry. this is pure CHEAT, and when i comes to cars i DON'T cheat.

And don't you need to pay anything for this offshore company? And aren't you responsible for this company, and doesn't this company have to pay taxes, and what will you do with this company after that, and what will you do with the company after you sell the car? will you need to pay to close it up? If you want to know a friend of mine had to pay almost 30.000eur to close his company.

So my answer to this is no. After all, i don't like the design of the plates..

I disagree, it this world my friends you always must take a chance when you have option for it, you think your country will give a **** if ya have empty pockets, they will buy BMW so that you feel better ?, I dont think so, heh.....and btw Vanuatu is paradice place , 82 small islands, one vulcano, crystal tirquize watter etc......it is cca 2 hours flight from sidney to Port Ville, a capital of Vanuatu republic, many known companies are registrated there (so as one of mine as well )

ps if you look little bit inside of page I posted you will realize that you dont have to do anything with that company, its just there to show your connection for it....here in Croatia I saw several GT3 and one f430 (recently crashed) with V. plates.....you can save up to 50-80k euros on bad ass car and I will take that chance.

No, still wouldn't work here. Believe me, I've examined every loophole. I am not allowed to drive a foreign-registered car here without paying tax as long as I'm a resident, and I'm quite surprised to hear it works in other countries.
