This is one of the best articles I`ve read from a non-journalistic automotive enthusiast, well done Just_me, This report is better and more detailed than some press releases I`ve read on the M6.

My one question is why did you lift off the gas peddle when shifting with SMG. I take it your own car is a manual so you might have thought that it
would be a little advantage in trying this method out with SMG.

I read a review once that to eliminate the jerkiness when changing gear in your M6, you can lift the foot of the gaspedal and somewhere back in my head there was something that made me do it. Thank God , Gustav told me not to cause it was much more fun to keep the foot down all the time.

Actually, it is true (works the same way in a regular SMG). If you lift your foot off the pedal for a very short time at the exact good time, the changes go best (comfort wise). This however only works when the SMG is in automatic mode. I think you were confused with that perhaps...
