Car brochures?

Anyone here collect them? I've been at it since I was twelve and have amassed a huge collection, I have a bin in my closet where you will literally throw out your back if you're not careful enough while lifting. I have mostly brochures for European marques, right now i'm starting to collect brochures from all over the world. Just yesterday I recived the new S-class brochure straight out of MB's Berlin marketing dept, one of the nicest brochures I've collected yet.

Re: Car brochures?

And I thought I was the only one.

I've collected about 10 so far, among them the A8, A6, S-Class, 7 Series and the VW Phaeton's. I'm not a avid collector, but I love to keep them at home for reference. Most of the time the dealers don't take me seriously because I'm too young (in their eyes at least) to buy one of these, so I have to ask them for it.

What collections do you have?

Re: Car brochures?

Awesome. I'll give you a bit of a rundown on what I have, I use to throw them out til I went to a freinds house and saw how big his collection had grown through the years...

-Aston Martin - Vanquish(hard bound and paperback), DB9 and V8 Vantage(paperback)

-Audi - off and on, I've thrown some out over the years, have some 04' brochures, all 05', on my way to collecting 06's

-BMW - all cars since 03', just got the E60 M5 brochure yesterday.

-Bentley - All Continental series(Coupe, Sedan, cabroilet brochure coming) cars, Arnage(Red Label, T, and RL) I also have the original Continental series brochure.

- Jaguar - not much, just 04' XK & XJ, new 06 XK brochure coming.

-Land Rover - last generation Range Rover brochure(03) and all brochures for new Range Rover, LR2, and Range Rover sport. This includes some teaser pre release brochures

- Mercedes Benz - All current cars since 03', as mentioned I just got the 07' German market S class brochure yesterday, uber cool. I also have the SLR teaser brochure, trying to find full brochure if one exsist.

- Porsche - All brochures since 99, I have the Carrera GT brochure which is now out of print, the latest edition of the GT2 hardback brochure(there were two versions). Porshce probably makes some of the nicest brochures available.

- Rolls Royce - There have been many brochures for the Phantom, I have every single one printed. I also managed to get my hands on the brochure for the 100EX concept, which is pretty interesting.

- Volvo - Tons upon tons of Volvo brochures, 03' on.

- Volkswagen - All Touraeg brochures, Golf GTI, Jetta GLI (MK1V), B6 Passat on the way and others.

I have others, but these are the majority of my collection. I also have a brochure for the Gallardo, really nice and pretty big.

Re: Car brochures?

I worked for an MB dealer this summer and they let me take home all these old brochures. That and some Japanese car brochures from the early '90s which I have been collecting. I have about 300 brochures total (MB and Japanese car brands).

Re: Car brochures?

Wow, thought I was bad..!

I have mostly only recent brochures. Whenever I go to car shows (Sydney Motor Show next week?) I collect heaps! Then I find I never really use them.. but it's the fun of collecting and sitting in cars Every now and then I do throw out the old ones, though. I suppose I don't find the nostalgia or reference value that great after a while. I mainly use brochures for comparison purposes.

I usually only get brochures for cars that I'm considering to buy, or for a reasonable comparison, even if it's onyl vaguely considering. The most expensive cars I have with brochures are probably like A6/E-class and stuff. I guess I'm not that keen to ask at Motor Shows for expensive cars, and also for mailed brochures, even. I'm only 25 and I get the idea they wouldn't take me seriously.

Re: Car brochures?

I collected MB brochures for a while. But now whenever I go to order a brochure from the website MBUSA, it sends me an email from the nearest MB dealer closest to my house asking if I want to test drive. All I want are the pretty pictures Mercedes, I'm 18 I can't afford an R Class!! Sorry, I'm done...

Re: Car brochures?

I usually collect brochures at Car shows (LA auto show) but find 6 months later that they take too much space and end up throwing them away. I do however keep magazines. I think I have a 5 year old Car and Driver, with the E39 M5. Article name is Brute in A Suit. The M5 and this article really began my interest in cars.

No problem, if you want to order a brochure just call 1-800-FOR-MERCEDES and they'll send you one w/ out giving your info to a dealer, that's at your discretion.
