I have done around 235 in the S60 (top speed). It was late night (2.30 am) and the road was almost empty for many kilometres. I reached that speed in the highway on my way out of athens...

The stage 2 kit brings me too just under 600hp. So i wsa interested in knowing if the upgrade was worht it... i guess it is...

Im surprised he got over 150hp with Renntech... Throttle body work?

Amg-Unit told me once that he was having realibilty issues after his engine upgrade and if I remember correct he was going to get rid of the enginemodifications.

And seriosly how often are we doing topspeeds test, standard (or stage 1) should be enough for most people but I guess, enginemodifications are for those who have to much money in their pockets .

270 km/h (168 mph) as a passenger in my dad's 1989 500SL with the limiter removed. And I didn't have my camera with me to prove it!

In 2nd place, again as a passenger in a W220 S320 S-Class: 240 km/h (150 mph).

i agree with u just_me ,if i had a CLS 55 id leave it stock , still super fast ..

he had engine problems after he added the huge power ,,, i adviced him to take the car to the dealler and check the engine ...

I've done 230 km/h overseas in a drag race with my W140 S600 against a W140 S320. Couldn't go more 'cause I ran out of room an I had to make a turn.

It's difficult to go that much in New York, but I have a crazy cousin who has done more than 120MPH on the Belt Parkway (Alex knows where that is) during a race with an Infiniti G35 with his BMW 540i. I just don't have his reflexes to go that fast around here.

Yes i do know where that is, Extremely good friends with Hwy1 and Hwy2. That is more or less our playground... YellowMurci pulled over 200mph there, and on average i hit over 120 daily there, and when i was racing another CL55 with yellow murci driving i got into the 140's. But again that is a common speed, every day i hit 120mph or better. The car just gets there so fast its rediculous.


Moss... MB would not cover him with the mod's to his CLS55. Only Renntech will. Unless you know someone like i do $$$ . Also only Renntech does throttle body work. You see the stg1. is a delimiter and airfilters, and crank shaft pulley for supercharger. Stg2. is simply headers. Thats about it. And that gives you 100hp more than stock. Would bring him too 569hp. Anyways i run out of room in the 150's to 160's though it gets there fairly quick. After that it takes a while to bring up speed. Thats why 200mph is hard to swallow. I currently have 540hp. And getting past 160 is hard.

Anyways Renntech does throttle body work, but i wouldnt go there... Its hard to get past MB service and be covered under warranty. They dont want anything to do with it. Gotta be careful.

My stg2 will be done by end of March for sure...

^I wish I lived in NYC. Anyway sounds like you have a lot of fun. But remember, some of the S. california Highways like the 605 are long and completely empty late at night. So it may be more possible here in LA verses NY.
