Re: Top of the World

Bentley FS on top of the world? I don't think so. I also think that you should have included the Bentley Arnage, it is probably the most uncompromized luxury car on this planet.

Re: Top of the World

I agree with you, was thinking more of brand image and price range in the ultraluxury segment more than specific models.. Since Maybach has two models, I'm adding the Arnage to the selections.
No comparisons as to which one is better or has the most gadgetry or such, simply its mere presence.

Re: Top of the World

Although the Phantom has a lot of precense the Arnage looks more elegant IMO. The Phantom is like a bulldog dressed in a tux and bow.tie.

Re: Top of the World

I'm looking at the picture of the Arnage above, but in the poll it is listed on the same line with the Flying Brick as if they are the same car. Wrong. I can't stand the Continental Flying Brick or the Coupe version.

The Arnage is the car for me. The Arnage T to be exact. Its truly old world, old tech and the real deal imo.

Re: Top of the World

* The Bentley is not my cup of tea in any area. It doesn't even look remotely attractive.

* The Maybach looks somewhat like a glorified Hyundai at the front and really has no sense of occasion or style. The interior is packed with technology galore and excellent materials but the style is sooo..I dunno...its just not happening. Perhaps its too 'American' in flavour.

* The Roll Royce looks SPLENDID on the outside. It epitomizes everything a car of this class should look like. A real shame about the truck like and spartan interior. Also, I know a rolls doesn’t need all of this, but where are all the toys?

I dunno who to vote for.

Re: Top of the World

Too be honest, I wouldn't buy any of these cars, a W221 S600 would suit me just fine and then some...

I would'nt call it "old tech" - actually it's fairly state-of-the-art technically.

I wouldn't call the interior of the Phantom spartan at all - it's more about elegant simplicity. - and it does have a lot of "toys" but many are concealed. The whole attitude of the Phantom's interior is about discretion and the impression of effortlessness - like the way chauffeurs used to be taught to drive with their hands on the steering-wheel at "20m to 5-O-clock" - and making as few movements as possible - it's all about creating an impression of calmness and effortlessness.

Re: Top of the World

Fair enough, but the dashboard of the Rolls belongs in a truck, regardless how superb the rest of the vehicle is.

Re: Top of the World

Presence and I actually find it great looking... especially that color. On top of that, add history, and this car is pretty much unbeatable in my opinion. Maybach over Bentley though.

Besides, the 21" rims look like they came off a tractor... and they don't spin while you drive
