GCZ's Best Car of the year...

Ok I know that C&D, R&T, Automobile and MT all have their best car/s of the year awards. Because those are usually decided by the general public and not by GermancarFREAKS (like us) I really don't care what they have to say. I want you guys to nominate some cars and I'll put them on this list and then well have a pole with some quotes. When you nominate a car give a single sentence why you think that car is the best and well post the good quotes along with the nominees in a pole and we'll all choose on the best car. If it comes to a tye we'll vote again to decide which of the two or three top runners will win. YOU CAN ONLY NOMINATE ONE CAR. (make sure you leave a quote)

"its the best looking GermanCar at this point in time, also its the best looking Bimmer, and the most important German Car"-Giannis

S-class----- "Oh, why? Because it's THE benchmark for the auto industry, no matter what they say."-ojis

CLS-----"First ever four door coupe"-Yaz AMG

RS4 "its the bargain of the century" "the next M3 will have to come with a free moon". Clarkson

Veyron-----"Despite my considerable misgivings about this car, I would nominate the Bugatti Veyron purely from an engineering achievement point of view. Even though it is socially reproachable and heinously expensive..."-Martinbo

S8 "luxury, speed, beauty, and sound track only lamborghini could make" Matt

Zonda F "Well if the nurburgring record.. and the TG record.. isnt enough.. then i dont know what is."-Artist

Porsche 997 Carrera S: Beautiful design and class leading performance Luwalira

S6 "THE bad boy audi thats a predecessor to the ultimate four door" Matt

Does the Ruf RT12 count? Haha.

Faster in a straight line than most modern supercars for half the price and it's still German. It can probably corner almost as well too even though it's a steel chassis with the engine behind the rear wheels.

Its between M5 and the new E90.

the M5 fulfilled what everyone hope for. Its fast, practical and comfortable and got several awards this year.

3-serie E90 is the benchmark in its class, Its bigger, comfortable and still a fun car to drive. Almost everyone can afford a E90 while everyone cant afford a M5. E90 is still the to-seller in the class.

This is tough, I dont know which one to nominate

the candidates are, i think, the new s-class, rs4, e90 3-series, m5, m6 and.....may be the new ml-class and the q7

It's wierd but I'll choose the Golf GTI. It's fantastically well-rounded and doesn't leave anybody disappointed.

Despite my considerable misgivings about this car, I would nominate the Bugatti Veyron purely from an engineering achievement point of view. Even though it is socially reproachable and heinously expensive...

oh, and pig ugly
and too heavy
and too thirsty
and late
and hopelessly over budget
and (worst of all) Mrs Piech's car - just kidding...

Other than all that, in terms of superlatives, the Veyron has laid the benchmark for the 21st century in a great many aspects.

shoooot, how can i forget the MIGHTY VEYRON?! i guess i didnt view it as a GERMAN CAR, altho technically it is. yes, i'd say veyron IS the best car of the year.
