| Re: Kings Battle - S-class, LS, 7-series, A8 and XJ Well for me its just the look of the 7-Series, it was just plain ugly until the FL and now it looks a little bit better, but the new design language works better on the 3 and 5-Series cars IMO. This model 7-Series just have never appealed to me so it is way down on my list of this group of cars. M |

| Re: Kings Battle - S-class, LS, 7-series, A8 and XJ lol Im the fanboy. Now I love all german cars, especially audi and BMW, and I am usually the one defending BMW on other boards, but some people seem to think that anything with BMW badge gives it the god given right to claim its the class leader. the 7 is not and several lesser manufacturers have beaten the 7 including that new lexus and XJ.Now I shall admit to this. The new M3 will beat the RS4 even if it has less power. The M5 annahilates the RS6 and the 3 is better than A4. BMW has alot going for it but the 7 series is not one of those things, especially with its looks. Most people only buy it because it has a BMW badge. Personally I dont see a problem at all comparing the top of the line audi vs the top of the line BMW. I know one is sports orientated but that never stopped BMW fans comparing the M6 to the RS4. Plus the power difference isnt all that great and the price is near enough the same. The 760i is a S8 competitor in terms of price and power. ![]() |

| Re: Kings Battle - S-class, LS, 7-series, A8 and XJ I look at things this way - In the US, the Audi A8 has been a slow seller. For the most part, it's all things 7er and S-Klasse, but in a position where I could haggle the life out of the dealer and shiv things down to a managable price. So if it was my money I'd probably be heading towards A8 territory, if only because it's been unpopular in the US. |

1. This is, by far, the best selling 7er of all times. 2. It was to only 7er/competitor to surpass the S klasse as far as sales go. 3. It is also the most influential car BMW has made since the 2002/3er in several ways (such as interior and exterior design, IDrive system etcetera). 4. Whereas the 7er would follow behind the S klasse (think ABS and such), now for a while it lead the pack. 5. No matter how much the biased/blinded Merc fans try to spin it about the W221 interior DNA/design theme, the simple fact is that IT'S A COPY of the E65 7 series, and it is the greatest proof of the (temporary) Leadership of the E65. 6. Lexus and Jaguar can't realy be placed next to BMW. In some ways/areas nobody can. | |
