TTAC picks the 10 worst autos of 2007

- ONLY REGISTERED AND ACTIVATED USERS CAN SEE ALL LINKS - CLICK HERE TO REGISTER

We’re sure most readers will have their own private list of hated cars but we bet few and far between would have every car on that list be from one of the Detroit 3. The same can’t be said for the guys who claim to be all things honest about the auto industry, so let’s take a look at who made this year’s list of the ten worst cars sold in the U.S.

10. Saturn Ion
Shoddy build quality, dull design and a tacky interior were all described as being traits of the Saturn Ion. We’re surprised it came in at only tenth place.

- ONLY REGISTERED AND ACTIVATED USERS CAN SEE ALL LINKS - CLICK HERE TO REGISTER

9. Chrysler Aspen
We were left wondering how the Chrysler Aspen was spared from Chrysler’s recent product cuts and it seems the guys at TTAC were too.

- ONLY REGISTERED AND ACTIVATED USERS CAN SEE ALL LINKS - CLICK HERE TO REGISTER

8. Chevrolet TrailBlazer / GMC Envoy / Isuzu Ascender / Saab 9-7X
This quartet should have been dropped years ago and we’re not the least bit surprised the TTAC agrees.

- ONLY REGISTERED AND ACTIVATED USERS CAN SEE ALL LINKS - CLICK HERE TO REGISTER

7. Hummer H2
There aren’t many cars more politically incorrect at the moment than the H2 but you couldn’t seriously buy this car without expecting some flak.

- ONLY REGISTERED AND ACTIVATED USERS CAN SEE ALL LINKS - CLICK HERE TO REGISTER

6. Hummer H3
It seems Hummer can’t do anything right but in fairness we could think of betters cars for this list than the H2. The H3 on the other hand is a definite yes.

- ONLY REGISTERED AND ACTIVATED USERS CAN SEE ALL LINKS - CLICK HERE TO REGISTER

5. Chevrolet Uplander
This vehicle made it on the top ten worst cars list in back to back years and thankfully it won’t get a chance to make next year’s list.

- ONLY REGISTERED AND ACTIVATED USERS CAN SEE ALL LINKS - CLICK HERE TO REGISTER

4. Dodge Nitro
The Nitro is another vehicle we thought could have been spared from this list but its “rough-running, gas-guzzling, hard-shifting and sloppy handling” ensures it stays.

- ONLY REGISTERED AND ACTIVATED USERS CAN SEE ALL LINKS - CLICK HERE TO REGISTER

3. Chevrolet Aveo
There aren’t many cars on sale in the U.S. that feel as cheap as the Aveo, and it seems a lot of readers at TTAC agreed with this.

- ONLY REGISTERED AND ACTIVATED USERS CAN SEE ALL LINKS - CLICK HERE TO REGISTER

2. Chrysler Sebring
The Sebring is a born rental car. It’s hideous in a deeply bland sort of way and the dull cabin and poor dynamics were enough to get it into the number two spot.

- ONLY REGISTERED AND ACTIVATED USERS CAN SEE ALL LINKS - CLICK HERE TO REGISTER

1. Jeep Compass
The number one reason why this car came in as the worst is “the fact that this re-skinned all wheel-drive Dodge Caliber wears the storied Jeep badge.”

Re: TTAC picks the 10 worst autos of 2007

I've seen the Chrysler Sebring upclose at my local Mercedes dealership and I can't understand what's so bad about it. First of all it's not bland at all in my opinion. For a mainstream car, especially an American, it's rather stylish. I feel it has got its own design character.

So they're calling it a bad car simply because they don't like the design and because it's a "rental"? Guess all those Mercedes E-Classes must be the biggest pieces of sh*t on the road since they're also being sold to taxi and police and rental fleets!

Chris, Daimler is independent now. You don't have to defend Chrysler products anymore.

Re: TTAC picks the 10 worst autos of 2007

There is nothing wrong with the Hummer H2. The Hummer H3 should be there, but not the H2. The Chrysler Aspen is great example of badge engineering, but it isn't an awful vehicle either. It didn't get cut because it is selling. Thank God the Saturn Ion is out of production now. It was the worst little piece of crap GM sold this year.

Disagreed there Marcus. I think the H2 is God awful.

But I will agree that the Aspen isn't a bad vehicle. And actually, I think don't think the Aveo - cheap as it may be - deserves as a spot on the list either.

Not many surprises there.

The Aveo though - doesn't deserve a place there. It's a decent car for its price.

"God Awful"....lol. Sounds like something I'd say. A friend of mine has one so I'm a little biased. They're really improved it for 2008 though.

Haha. Well, I've been trying to put more creativity into my writing as of late.

Regarding the Hummer though...I'll be sure to check an '08, although I don't think I've seen a single H2 since I moved to Vancouver (some 8 months ago).

I never liked most Chrysler products in the first place. Just being objective here.

I don't find anything wrong with the Sebring from a design point of view. I'm sure it'll be an average mainstreamer, but from a design point of view it's interesting looking.
