Last one for the day, Light blue R8. Not my favourite colour for the car.

Re: Monster's visit to the Australian International Motor Show 2007 (Review+Photos)

Both of them have the GenIV 6.0 L V8 from the Corvette with a peak power of 307kW. The GTR is the top of the VE Commodore based HSV, it comes with Magnetic Ride Control (MRC) as standard. Basically they are the same magnetic damper used in the F599 and the Audi R8.

The word Maloo is a indigenous word meaning Thunder. The Maloo is basically the Ute version of the HSV R8. A lot of people buy the ute because they see it as a 2 door coupe with extra practicality. It has the same engine and drivetrain as the rest of the HSV range, but with different traction control and rear suspension setting because of the different weight distribution of the car.

Re: Monster's visit to the Australian International Motor Show 2007 (Review+Photos)

Audi usually have the best dressed girls but they aren't that willing to take photos with the show goers. This year they have the R8, the S5, the new A4, and a stunning white RS4.

Last year they have a silver R8 behind the protective glass fence, but this year we can have a good close up look at the car. The light blue and aluminium side blade combination isn't my favourite, It makes the car look soft. The car is very low to the ground it is definitely as low as the Lamborghini Gallardo, but not as compact. The car looks great from most angle, but from the side profile, the car looks unbalanced because the front overhang looks too long. Audi designers try to disguise the front overhang by having the headlights angled backwards as shown in my previous post, but when you view the side profile, the entire length of the front overhang is exposed.

Re: Monster's visit to the Australian International Motor Show 2007 (Review+Photos)

The new A4 was on my "to see" list of cars in the show. There was a metallic black 3.2 V6 Quattro on the main display area. My interest died down when I saw the special "White Edition RS4" on display not too far away from the new A4. So that explains why I have 2 half arsed photo of the A4. IMO it just doesn't look that new or interesting, it is a case of more of the same. Maybe it is the colour, or the lighting but it just doesn't appeal to me. I really hate the chin spoiler, it extends too far in front of the car.

Re: Monster's visit to the Australian International Motor Show 2007 (Review+Photos)

2 quick photos of the S5 taken by my friend asd01 because my camera ran out of battery. I am not entire convinced by the design of the A5/S5, and after seeing it in real life I am starting to like it more than before. The shape is definitely more eye catching than a BMW E92, but I think the slightly GT style window shape doesn't go well with the rest of the car's design. I love the design of the front though. Wish I had taken more photos of the car. I guess it has a sense of classical beauty about it, especially when looking at the side profile.

The interior is simply flawless, everything you touch, every surface is made from top quality materials. Every switch gear has been precisely engineered and manufactured so it feels so right every time when you press it.

White RS4. Simply stunning. Enjoy. (I spent too much time taking photos of the BMW CS so my camera was running low on battery towards the end so I can't take more photos)

The jewel in the RS4. One of the best engine ever made. Now this is what a performance engine should look like. Entire visible, not hidden underneath a plastic cover.
