If so, has RR then decided to include the aluminium hood, because I remember the concept had it, but RR said it would most likely not make it to production?.
The photo in the thread starter is the offical photo of the car, the aluminium hood is optional extra. Just imagine this RR in black with the aluminium hood, it will look sensational.

Re: Drop your Top (Rolls vs. Bentley)!

Arnage-based models (incl. Azure) have stuck in 20th century. It's an old design from 90s.

I'm eager to see new Arange / Azure / Coupe with new design - following Bentley new design path which started with Continental model line.

Anybody knows when new Arange line is coming?

The Rolls would be my choice. Great looks, especially with the aluminium hood.

It is slightly different from the 100EX concept. The aluminium hood on the concept has been replaced with brushed stainless-steel on the production vehicle for practical reasons (aluminium oxidizes over time loosing much of its luster). Also the 100EX and 101EX had 9-litre V16, 64-valve engines ...and subsequently had longer hoods. After much consultation with potential customers, Rolls-Royce discovered there was no real demand for a more powerful engine than the 6.75 litre V12 in the Phantom limousine ...so the same engine is used on the Phantom DHC.

Re: Drop your Top (Rolls vs. Bentley)!

The Bentley seems to have more character but the Rolls spells new-age sophistication. Tough one but neither of them really appeal to me... If I have to, the Rolls would do fine.

Yes, the rolls does have more of a new age look. The Bentley just seems to be more classic in my opinion.

That's why I like it. Plus, I dunno... I'd rather drive a Bentley than drive (or ride in the back of) a Rolls.

Thanks for that Rob..

I totally forgot about that thumping V16 of the 'EX concepts. Any ideas or guesses as to if (or when) we'll see this engine in production?

RR's bringing out a baby-Phantom so it won't be in that, ...any chance of BMW unleashing a V16 powered monster? ... or is this engine purely a "it's nice to dream" engine?
