Re: Testing VR

Pretty big difference there! I bet that comes in handy, especially at 200mm.

Re: Testing VR

Wow! I definitely need one of those! I'm a newbie in photography, can we use this lenses for long range shots as well?

That sounds great. I hope it is not expensive?

Re: Testing VR

Thank you everyone.

As AhlgrenGraphics said, this is a must, especially at 200mm like Choleric said. Some camera companies such as Sony in their A100 have embedded the system in their camera. However, Nikon and I think Canon have it on particular lenses such as the one I have. It is a great feature and a must at night and when zooming.

Can we buy VR lenses for point & shoot cameras?

I'm not sure whether to get a DSLR or not. Before I head to New York on the 13th I have to make a decision. My point & shoot works well but I have a feeling the extra functions in a DSLR will allow me to take better pictures.

I tried to find the thread where you recommended a few beginner cameras but it seems to be lost.

I wouldn't rush to any decisions.
