I saw your version of mine and it's great! Also, thanks for the tips. But like I said, I like extreme HDR. The extreme colors make the picture a little more "lively" if you know what I mean.
Interpretation is what makes this an art and not a science...:-)

Hope to get some shots that I can really make this HDR thing work for me. Try the demo in FDRTools...does a great job.

Thanks Bmer
My pleasure! I've learned so much from you photography gurus that it's great if I can help you with something.

I also thought the FDRTools was very easy to use. Qtfsgui gave me a very dark image from the HDR process but then I realized the HDR image still had to be worked through the Tone-mapping tool ("Tonemap the Hdr"). From the tone-mapping tool I had to change the result image size to the same as the original image and then use one of the many methods to process the image. "Drago", "Durand" and "Reinhard'02" gave me best results with Christian's image.

Re: Your best photography

These are old, but they are the last ones I have done. Haven't been shooting much let alone enough to be toting around a tripod.

I have that program too (Thanks BMer! ) but I do prefer Photomatix. The only good thing right now about FDR is that they don't give you some stupid annoying watermark!

They do put on a grid (red lines) until you purchase the program. The thing I like about it is when you save, it opens directly in PS (or any selected software) for final tweaking.

Have not had a chance to shoot some high contrast scenes but will find some soon.

This should have been posted to wimmer's post below.

Nice work Bmer...I have found the FDRTools better for blending of images than Photomatix. FDR does not have a tab for handheld (yet) but the Tripod setting does an excellent job.

Re: HDR Photography

I shot this today. It was processed with FDRTools from 3 images. Handheld so there is a slight misalignment due to my unsteady hand between shots but not really that noticeable. I am posting 5 more taken at the same site at the same time. Bright clouds, deep shade but the images look pretty balanced. I just can't get the right combination of adjustments...I know what I am looking for but can't tweak the right adjustments to get there.

Re: HDR Photography

This is a redo in full frame of #4 above. I have found more adjustments in FDRTools that you use prior to saving the tone imaging to PS for final tweaking. I am not there yet but getting a better idea of how the HDR process works...
