Get Austar/Foxtel mate, it isn't live, but they show all three days plus preview, review and Shakedown.

Re: World Rally Championship

Does anyone care of the WRC any longer, Habitual Speeder? Has the sport not lost a lot of interest?

WRC is not shown on North American television these days. Also, Loeb is dominating and I guess that might put off some fans too. For me, the biggest turn-off is that factory-backed teams seem to come and go. Peugeot left completely and Citroen left one year and came back.

Well, I still watch it.

Let's be realistic...it was never a very popular series in NA. As for Loeb dominating...good for him. He's got an all-new car & has continued dominating. It's no different than when Makinen won the Championship 4 years in a row, right? Or, any other driver dominating their respective series? I'm not sure why folks get so bogged down by this, really...

I was amazed that PSA had 2 factory teams with both Peugeot & Citroen, anyway. Now, Peugeot has moved on to Le Mans.

Little by little, you're starting to see different factory efforts...Skoda & Mitsubishi are testing cars. I'm sure we'll see more manufacturers, soon.

Oh, and...it's Jim.

Re: World Rally Championship

Sorry, Jim. I've been watching the Masters and didn't log in for a few days. Damn, looks like Tiger will win again.

I think the people who don't like domination are semi-regular fans. I don't have a problem with one driver winning, but I think it is a little different with factory teams dropping out and shortening the field of contenders.

What do you think it'll take it make WRC more popular in NA? I always wanted to see more snow rallies.

Well, Tiger didn't win...

Making WRC more popular in NA? Good question. In general, Americans (& some Canadians, I guess) like to be able to see as much of the action from their seat as they can. This explains the popularity of NASCAR (& every other series that runs on ovals), really. To make rally racing more popular, organizers would have to come up with a way to make the experience as fan-friendly as possible. Quite honestly, I'm not sure if it'll ever become any more popular, here...which is a shame.
