Translated by the Babel-Fish Translator

After the summer it will be on sale the new Opel Corsa, that already makes in the Spanish plant of Figueruelas (Zaragoza). He will be available with body of three or five doors.

The new Corsa is bigger than the previous one in all the dimensions, specially in the wheelbase. Their measures approach those of utilitarian recent, like Great Fiat Point, 207 Peugeot or the Renault Clio.

At least in three door version, there are certain outer characteristics that they can remember Astra GTC. Inside it has a differentiated design more, although with the structure of controls in the characteristic salpicadero in Opel.

Unlike other Opel, it does not have the granulated plastic of covering in the salpicadero and some panels of the doors (at least, not in all the versions).

A curiosity in the new Corsa is that there are several illuminated controls or (image), like the one of the lights, the one of elevalunas or the gunners of the doors.

The safety equipment features a system of control of pressure of the tires and head-airbags curtain type (the previous Corsa could not take them). The new Corsa will be able to optionally take a screen for the navigator of great size and in color (image); the one of the previous Corsa it was monochromes and of small size.

The range of engines in the launch will consist of three of gasoline (of 1,0; 1,2 or 1.4 ls of piston displacement) and three Diesel engine: 1.3 CDTi in versions of 75 or 90 CV, and 1.7 CDTi. More ahead other gasoline motors of 1.6 rolled ls, either atmospheric or the turbocharger version will be available that Opel Meriva OPC has released.

All will have of series a manual six and five speed, gear box in cases in others. There will be available an automatic box of Easytronic type. Mechanically, he will be similar to other utilitarian modern ones, like Great Fiat Point. It has a front suspension McPherson and a rear torsional axis.

All the versions will not have of series disk brakes in the four wheels, but all will be able to have stability control. The wheels will be of 15 inches in the minor of the cases and the 17 greatest ones, these last ones with tires of measurement 215/45 (new the Continental ContiSport Contact 3).

Attractive. I like it. And sat-nav on a Corsa! Hooley-dooley!

Although, I'd still take a Renault Clio over one.

Re: New 2007 Opel Corsa Unveiled

The rear reminds me of the Nissan Latio.

It isn't exactly bad. It looks clean. But I still don't like the thick mid-level belt they have running all around the car. It looks overdone, especially the parts in the rear and front. Typical of French cars, no? Thank God it isn't black plastic and that it is painted in body coloured paint.

The front lights looks a teeny bit like the CLS's, and that isn't bad either.

I'm pleasantly surprised with the interior. It looks warm and inviting.

Re: New 2007 Opel Corsa Unveiled

Not too bad. This, Yaris or Swift would be my pick of the class. Clio looks nice, sure, but I'm not that much of a gambler when it comes to reliability.

Er, and for some reason those shots look Shopped on to the backgrounds.. the light sources and the reflections aren't quite right, IMO. They've tried to disguise it, but for some reason it still looks a bit phoney..

I'd much rather have the Fiat Grande Punto which shares the same platform.

This car looks very cute, like a downsized Astra!

I'm sure they will be flooding the roads soon!

It looks nice. Better than most cars in the segment including Clio and Punto (IMO). Of course i would still take a VW Polo over anything else.

Re: New 2007 Opel Corsa Unveiled

I prefer the 5-door version over the 3-door. There's a lower proportion of metal-to-window from the rear three quarter view, and there's also an absence of bulges, which is good. It's not a lumpy, misshapen blob any more.
