Old Rolls-Royce I know some of you have no interest in old cars at all, but as you know, I have quite a love of some of the classic cars - here are some I saw recently on the net. This great old Phantom III has been for sale in Germany for some time now. The cognoscenti generally argue that the Phantom II is the greatest Rolls-Royce of them all but I have always preferred the Phantom III - it is one of my favourite cars of all time. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() This wonderful 1938 Phantom III is for sale in the US. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I know it's not a Rolls-Royce, but I can't resist - my favourite vintage marque of all - Voisin - pronounce "vwu-zan" - this one is for sale in Germany - I love this car. 1934 Avions Voisin C 24 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() And finally, something a little more recent - LOL This 1962 Rolls-Royce Phantom V with the open chauffeur's compartment is really beautiful. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by SDNR; 09-26-2005 at 05:35 AM..

Re: Old Rolls-Royce Have you ever seen a car interior in Louis XV style. This Phantom I was commissioned by an American businessman in 1927 as a romantic gift for his wife. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by SDNR; 10-06-2005 at 04:33 AM..

Re: Old Rolls-Royce This is an extraordinary car (hideous but extraordinary), it took 20 years to finish (I'm not kidding), but then it was an Italian coachbuilder working on "Italian time" It is a 1971 Rolls-Royce Phantom VI and was built by Pietro Frua at his coachbuilding company in Northern Italy. ![]() Frua died before the body was completed and so the job passed through several other coachbuilders before finally being completed in 1992. The interior is so magnificent, even King Louis XIV would have approved. ![]() Frua had previously created this Rolls-Royce Phantom VI Drop Head Coupé for a Swiss gentleman. ![]() ![]() - ONLY REGISTERED AND ACTIVATED USERS CAN SEE ALL LINKS - CLICK HERE TO REGISTER The design of the standard Phantom VI is much more appealing to me, but these cars are incredible, if not for anything else, then for their extravagance and exclusivity. Here's a picture of the Phantom VI compared with the current Phantom. ![]() ![]() Last edited by SDNR; 10-07-2005 at 06:57 PM..
