Re: Poor Gullwing ! OMG, who would do such a thing! Like on houses, they should list some cars, meaning you can't change anything on them eg paint jobs!

Re: Poor Gullwing ! the photo is taken in Isreal and the owner of the car probably painted the car in the same colours as the Israel flag. Blue and white.

Re: Poor Gullwing ! I saw a Gullwing 300SL today cruising around in W. L.A., it was insane to see such a beautiful car on such a beautiful day like this, lovely! The exhuast sounded really nice as well. I kinda wish that MB had stuck to the basic design philosiphy of the original SL for all future SL's w/ the lovely curves and perhaps keeping a fixed hard top model in the range. How many of you would be in favor of such an idea?

Re: Poor Gullwing ! Deutsch, I like the curvy basic design of the Gullwing and the Roadster, but I don't favour them being incorporated into future SLs. I think these curvy shapes can make the cars look very dated in a hurry. I would like the future SLs to look more like the W107 and R107. What do you think of the new Jaguar XK? It does look a bit like the old E-Type or XKE. Is this the direction you want the SL to go? Personally, I think the new Jag XK does resemble the XKE and has a similar old-style body shape, but I also feel the new car's exterior has been overdesigned.
