Re: 1982 Audi V8 Brochure

An underappreciated car IMO, Christian. I parked next to one the other day and I still don't think it looks like a car that was from the 1980s.

I think a good number of these V8s were factory-armoured. I'd love to get one of those.

Re: 1982 Audi V8 Brochure

The V8 was introduced in 1988, and the brochure is for the 1992 model.

Re: 1982 Audi V8 Brochure

Yes, thanks MikeJ. I checked my car show brochure from 1989. I knew there was a feature on the Audi V8 in there.

Re: 1982 Audi V8 Brochure

Hey, on that site it says 1982 so I just wrote what it said!

And I agree that this car was very underrated, even for its time. It's hot.

There's one in my town, i love it. Looks great, in a good condition, mighty sound and a lot of presence...

Re: 1982 Audi V8 Brochure

A co-worker had one of these a while back. I remember this car when it first came to the U.S. It was a quite a rare site back then for sure.
I remember being quite taken by the interior, nothing else really like it back then.

Correct

MY 1992 means 4.2 V8 / 280 HP instead of 3.6 V8 / 250 HP. It's indicated with the (red) V8 label in the front grille.

BTW - Audi took two VW GTI 1.8 16V / Audi 80 16V engines, attached them together (surely, they did some more modifications such as 'versetzte Hubzapfen' (can't translate this)), and - voilá - they had a V8.

We had a dark blue one and I'm still in love with it!

Many thanks for this, Christian!
