GermanCarZone Totem? (traveling camera funness!)

I got this idea from another forum, who in turn got it from another forum, and I just recieved the package, and it's really fun. Here's the idea:

The totem (package) will be sent in random order to people who sign before up before hand. Other people can sign up after the totem is on its way, but they will be put on the bottom of the list. The totem will contain a disposable camera to take any one pic you want with. Also a little notebook to write whatever you want in it, and you can put a little gift in there for the next person. It go's all over the place untill it gets back to the starting person (me), then I upload the pics to the site.

I know that we have international members, which kinda makes this even more fun, though if this gets big, we might have to use multiple disposable cameras. If you speak another language, writing the journal entry thing in your native language and English would be pretty groovy too, I think.

Anybody else up for this? Sign up below.

Re: GermanCarZone Totem? (traveling camera funness!)

You mean sending stuff with the regular mail?

There's a few problems with this:
1: The camera - cameras are expensive. Anyone willing to sacrifice one?
2: Regular mail costs alot, even more to other countries.
3: With a camera and other "gifts" in the package the costs of shipping would escalate with it's size.

Sorry, but I'm not in.

Sounds funny otherwise.

Well, it would be a cheap, disposable (one use) camera, and I wouldn't mind picking up the tab for that. And there will only be one gift in the package at a time, as the gift in the package would be for the next person in line. At the other website I'm at, the price ceiling is $15 for the gift.

I thought it would be really cool especially with the international people we have here. Maybe even make it so you take a picture of you with your car in a cool place unique to your area, to put a car spin on it. And the gift could be a Matchbox car, or a cheap plastic car model; they don't weigh too much.

If this idea doesn't go through (although I wish it does), we could always send you, zetableh, the images along with our entries through email and you could post them up once you have all of them. This way, there would be no cost involved and it would also be a lot quicker for everyone. Otherwise, sign me up!
