Re: New 7 Wonders

yeah man these modern things like the statue of liberty and the Jesus statue doesent match up to the old things.. it was hell of a lot harder to build things back in the days.. ppl who built it died..and their children died.. and their grandchildren got old as hell before some of these things were done

Re: New 7 Wonders

Thing such as the great wall, stone henge and the pyramid in egypt took 10-20 years to build. Those buildings are very special and also mysterious. I need to pay a visit to one of them and just stare and them for hours

Not if you have thousands of slaves working around the clock....

I think votes need to go to monuments that are really old. Things like the Sydney opera shouldn't be allowed to enter yet IMO.

I agree with you warot - even Neuschwanstein, the fantasy Castle isn't very old (19th century) built for the eccentric young King Ludwig II of Bavaria.

As far as modern architecture goes, the Sydney Opera House is certainly one of the great buildings of the last century but these buildings (below) are of equal significance.

Notre Dame du Haut by Charles Edouard Jeanneret (Le Corbusier)

Fallingwater by Frank Llyod Wright

Park Güell by Antoni Gaudí

Or one of many creations by the genius Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer
