Re: The Car you got your Drivers license in.

I should add, that I didn't passed my first test without any problem! At a big crossing, I ignore (better: didn't see) a truck(!!!). My driving instructor had to brake - that was the first test...
The second test proceeded without a problem! I have my driving license over two years now and haven't had any occurrences in that time! (no speeding tickets, crashes...)!

Go figure... you Bum!

For me,

Took the test in a mid-late 90's Chevy Cavalier, POS. No problems, easy peasy lemon squeezy.

Before that though I was taught how to drive in a manual subaru forester and a auto Jetta.

Re: The Car you got your Drivers license in.

I got my license in my first car, which I still have. 1987 Mercedes 190E 2.3.
I passed the drivers test as soon as I held the DMV door open for the lady on the way out to the car. 100% on the test.

Re: The Car you got your Drivers license in.

I actually drove most of the time in driving school with a 316ti (E46 Compact) (it was quite bad) but just a week before I was going to the test somebody had crashed it inside a parking garage. So for the last couple of driving sessions and the final test I got a terrible light yellow Ford Focus which propably had a 3-cylinder engine. It had so little power that you needed to push the pedal to the floor with the 1st gear and still it only barely managed to get up the ramp out of the parking garage. Because I wasn't very familiar with this car I was a bit nervous in the test and as a result accidentally turned off the engine in the first traffic lights. Fortunately everything went well after that and I passed the test on my first time.

Re: The Car you got your Drivers license in.

I'm impressed! Most of you learned in a petrol-engined car to drive!! Here in germany, nearly every driving school got diesels - because of the fuel consumption and so on. Or is it just because the different period?!

Thats great Gullwing! seems most everyone here got their license in a smaller car. I really should have gotton my license in my 300DT. It was a lot smaller than the S-Class and so damn easy to drive!!

I really has to get used to the sheer size of the 420SEL, I sware that thing felt and handled like a land-yacht and when you pressed the gas paddle it seemed to break away like a land slide! lots of attention too, folks aways wanted me to race them for some stupid reason. Anyway it was a great car and I wouldn`t mind owning another one.

I guess I have the bragging rights to say I got my license in an S-Class Mercedes-Benz, lOl! I might not be the only one.
