Nokia celebrates Ferrari anniversary with $25,000 phone

I did a quick search both in GCZ and CZ, but I didn't find anything related. If this has been posted before, close the thread.

Now, this has to be one of the craziest things money can buy. A cell phone that costs 18.000 Euros or $25.000!

Ahh, so Nokia owns Vertu ...I didn't know that.

Vertu represents the very worst conspicuous consumption IMO.

Tell me about it. Their handsets' specifications and form before christ and totally over priced. You might as well by a Nokia 8800, a watch and some expensive cuff links instead. On the other hand the phones comes with a number which gives you AMEX Black privilages.

I didn't know that, too! But there are a lot of people, who buy these type of phones! Probably they thing, that they got something special (with gold, silver, platin or diamonds)! I can not understand these people - okay, I really like the design of these mobile phones, but I would never buy one. I'm proud of my Nokia 6210...

Re: Nokia celebrates Ferrari anniversary with $25,000 phone

I believe that Vertu customers think their phones as jewelry with mobile phone functions. That's why the Vertu phones only have the basic functions and there are more choices with the exterior personalisation. If the customers really wanted all the complicated modern multimedia and other features, Nokia would no doubt offer them.

I didn't know Nokia owns them either. Actually Rob, the very worst examples of conspicuous consumption may be fancy chairs and clocks you sometimes display in your avatar.

At this moment, I would burn $25,000 just to inhale the fumes before I buy anything with the Ferrari emblem on it.
