O.J. Simpson arrested in Las Vegas robbery involving sports memorabilia he says is his.

LAS VEGAS (AP) -- O.J. Simpson was arrested Sunday on charges related to an armed robbery involving sport memorabilia, police said. Simpson was arrested shortly after 11 a.m. and is being brought to a police office, Capt. James Dillon said. Police are still determining charges against Simpson.

Several police officers were seen entering the hotel where Simpson is staying; a security guard said police took Simpson out a side door shortly after.
At least one other person has been arrested and police said earlier Sunday that as many as six people could be arrested in connection with the alleged armed robbery that occurred in a room inside the Palace Station casino-hotel on Thursday.
Simpson, 60, has said he and other people with him were retrieving items that belonged to him. He told police no guns were involved.
Police said two firearms and other evidence were seized at a private residence early Sunday. Walter Alexander, 46, of Arizona, was arrested Saturday night on two counts of robbery with a deadly weapon, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery and burglary with a deadly weapon.

Innocent man!

Does anyone think the prosecutors in Vegas will take a chance and bring this to trial? The prosecutors in California couldn't get him on double murder, how will these guys get him on this charge?

I don't think he has nearly as much money now to defend himself, but there's a question of whether he can even get a fair trial.

He's royally screwed this time. He had damn near every caucasin american ready to take it to the streets when he got aquited last time! If you look at the charges against his co-defendent Walter Alexander from Arizona, there obviously going to offer him a plea deal to testify against THE JUICE! If I was Mr. Alexander I'd keep my damn mouth shut, it's not like he does know what Mr. Simpsons capable of!

The fact that he had a ton of Caucasian Americans, and Americans in general, ready to riot when he got acquitted (remember President Clinton had ask Americans to take the verdict calmly beforehand) is why I doubt he is royally screwed this time. By the way, he was supposed to be screwed last time.

This lingering sense of disgust for him can easily be exploited by his lawyer. I read he is one of the most unpopular people in America. Can he even get a fair trial? If he can't, there's no point for the prosecution to bring the case to court. The best option would then be for them to work out a plea for him.

Also, do the prosecutors want to risk it? Michael Vick got a plea deal, despite the mountain of evidence the prosecutors allegedly had. Which prosecutor wants to take the risk of trying O.J. and watching walking out of the courtroom an innocent man (again)?

I think O.J. should plea bargain this one. He probably won't get much if he works out a sensible plea because he doesn't have a felony criminal record.

OJ got off because he was a wealthy celebrity who could afford clever lawyers -- race has nothing to do with it.

I couldn't disagree with you more! I knew O.J. would beat the murder trial for 2 reasons, #1 he's wealthy, and #2 he's wealthy! If you have the resources to exhaust the courts budget for anyone case, then you'll walk! My sister's best friends a lawyer, and he said it didn't matter if the jury had convicted O.J., judge Edo would of had to set the verdict aside either way. Mr. Simpson payed more then a million dollars on many different forms of DNA testing, midacondria being the most accured and expensive to say the least. Mr. Simpson exhausted the courts resources, which earned him his freedom! You have to understand 450SEL6.9, if Mr. Alexander chooses to testify against Mr. Simpson, who bare in mind has admitted and apologized for his role, or lack there of in the arm robbery, then he's screwed!!

I don't understand the point your trying to make, I was merely stating the obvious! Where did I state a reason for O.J. being aquited? Of course O.J. walked because of his ability to hire the best defense attorney's money can buy!

I'm sorry RICHBOY, I should have been clearer in my post. I was not commenting on anything you said as such -- it was more a comment concerning how it seems every time a "non-white" person is involved in a high-profile crime, the US Media immediately make race a pivotal issue.
