What? That is the first time I have heard that and I don't believe it. Officially, he got off because the jury unanimously acquitted. I also think the prosecutors tried a terrible case. I've heard nothing about the judge having to set aside even a guilty verdict because O.J. somehow exhausted the resources allotted to the case.

Can you ask your sister's friend to explain his logic? High-profile cases drag on for a long time and is he suggesting that as long as you can drag on a case beyond some point, then it ends with the verdict having to be set aside? In that scenario, there was no point in trying O.J. until a verdict was reached. They should have just let him out of the courtroom after a certain date. It just seems illogical. Normally, if the court system is running low of resources, minor cases are not brought to trial, which is how so many dangerous driving charges never make it to court.

O.J. is only screwed if the prosecution brings this case to trial, which I am not sure they will. Michael Vick was said to be screwed when his alleged accomplices all struck plea deals. That was supposed to be an indication that Vick would go to trial and have the book thrown at him. He ended up getting his own plea deal. I think O.J. will get the same.

He was speaking from a legal perspective. It's the courts job to convict you beyond a reasonable doubt, when you go to court it's your lawyers job to ask questions in hopes the witnesses and evidence can't answer, this in it's self creates reasonable doubt. His legal team asked thousands of questions that went unanswered. Even if the jury convicted Mr. Simpson, he wouldn't of had a tough time with the appeals court. They wouldn't for one second allow thousands of questions to go unanswered in such a high profile case, or any case for that matter. In short legal certainty out ways the jury's verdict, the law requires the process to play out regardless.

This case is turning into a joke. I think it's obvious that O.J. was set up. I thought this case reeked from the beginning. CNN covered it quite a bit today and the information coming out of it is just bizarre. I take back my suggestion that O.J. plea. Based on what I have read, he should go to trial because I highly doubt anyone can be convicted.
