what i don't get is, why is only 8 gig and 16 gig?

also, i bought my 80 gig ipod bout a month ago. now, there's only 80 gig, and 160 gig iPod 'Classic' as they call it.


you guys think it's worth it? the new iPod i mean. priced at U$ 299 for the 8 gig, and U$ 399 for the 16 gig.

it certainly looks dashing, very much like the iPhone, but 16 gig?

What is the difference between the Ipod and Iphone. Doesn't the Iphone do everything the Ipod does and more? So what is the point of new new Ipod then?

You should ask what's the point of the iPhone. The whole touch screen enchilada was meant for iPod in the beginning. The iPhone was just a quick way for Apple to make quick money and lots of it. If you guys want I can explain what's going on in full.

Do you think that the iPod Touch is a phone less iPod? It's actually the other way around. The iPhone is an iPod with phone functionality.

The $200 price drop was all planned. The iPhone isn't Apple's golden child, the iPod is. Even Steve said that the iPhone is the third priority after the iPod.

What many of you don't know is the iPod touch is THE touch screen device. The multi touch thing was initially destined for the iPod but Apple had a very clever plan in mind. The phone industry was always been their next target. In order for the debut to be successful they had to launch a unique phone. That is why the iPhone can before the iPod touch. If the iPod touch had been launched first the iPhone wouldn’t be anything special. Everyone one would have thought “yawn an iPod with phone functionality”, and they wouldn’t have sold over a million phones like they have done.

The iPhone is nothing but an experiment/15 minute cash cow which has now been slaughtered with the introduction of the iPod Touch. Just look at the iPod touch, 90% iPhone cannibalization without any care for the iPhone at all. The iPhone has during the latest two months been a way for Apple to over charge and made Bugs Bunny money quicker than a cocaine supplier. Apple has made a debut in the cell phone industry without any major risk. If they iPhone would have failed it wouldn't have been a problem since they didn't over invest money developing it. After all it's an iPod with phone functionality.

A 200 dollar price cut just 2 months and a few days after launch!! I've never seen anything like it. That's a kick in the nuts to all those who acted hookers for Apple's marketing team. Great way to make early adopters pay up huge for R&D.

Apple really jerked their most loyal customers this time. I would be pissed if I bought a 8GB iPod last month.

This is the biggest marketing/money stunt in consumer history. Steve Jobs will be getting a big bonus this year.

*Apple presents the iPhone
*Generate larger than life hype and publicity
*Builds up HUGE inventory ready to sell one to everyone who wants one, hence the iPhone never sold out.
*Overcharges for the product, nobody cares because it's unique and is an apple product.
*Sell over a million iPhones
*Cuts the price barely two month after launch and even makes the device less attractive by launching the iPod Touch.


What a way to earn millions of dollars in a drug lord-like way. $eve Job$ is the man
