Re: CLK63 AMG pics

It's unfortunate that the coupe will not be coming to the U.S. I guess most Americans prefer the convertible CLK AMG based on the resale values of 2003-05 CLK55s.

BTW, I saw my first W221 S65 yesterday while running along the Embarcadero here in SF. Nice sound and linked tail pipes.

Re: CLK63 AMG pics

This is really really really nice.

I really like what MB is doing.

This car looks like it will eat the pavement in front of it.

Re: CLK63 AMG pics

The CLS 63 will be here very soon. About 2 weeks ago the dealer called for me to specify what color/options I wanted, because the car was being built in 48 hours. I called my wife since it would be her car, and she said she still does not like the look of the CLS, so we did not order it. They still have my deposit though and the other day she said she likes the CLK, so maybe a CLK 63 (although she has always liked the E too)
I don't think the CLK 63 coupe is coming to the states, only the cab. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Re: CLK63 AMG pics

I like the colour. White assort very well with the CLK 63! But I miss Bi-Xenon and a quad exhaust which add a lot to the car.

Re: CLK63 AMG pics

IMO, the grille of the CLK is just too tiny compared to newer MB models.

I'm sure that will change with the next CLK just like it did with the new CL. The grille is going to have to get bigger and more upright to pass Euro pedestrian regulations.

Though I don't see anything wrong with the grille it fits the car the size of a CLK.

Re: CLK63 AMG pics

What's the reason for CLK 63 AMG Cabrio having only two exhaust pipes instead of four as in the Coupe?

I've heard that it has to do with the extra space required for the softtop (when it's retracted) which results in not being able to fit the spare tire well exactly in the centre of the trunk. Therefore, there is no room to fit the other half of the quad exhaust tubing. I could be wrong though....

Single/dual/quad exhausts......it's mostly for show and has negligible effect on performance.
