| My BMW M3 V8 E92 review So I finally drove the new M3 V8. As many of you know I was very upset on the first reviews from Marbella, Spain but the new M3 V8 surprised me. Suspension is good as a 335i thanks to EDC. The seats are very comfortable. I know Gustav had another three passengers when he drove from Stockholm to Göteborg, a three hour drive and they didn't had any complaints on the comfort, even in the backseat you sit good. There is also more space than M3 E46. Old M3 E46 has a rockhard suspension and isn't as comfortable as the new M3. The new M3 has tons of grip, you can push the car as much as you want to but the car is still glued to the street..of course drifting is still possible. Reeving to 8400 rpm is wonderful, Its a V8 but there are something about the sound that remind me about M3 E46. Oh BTW, 180km/h in third gear is possible I dont know what some carjournalists has against the steering feel, the steering is good no doubt, heck even former Formula 1 driver Alain Prost was praising the steering and he should know his stuff.I pick the new M3 V8 over M3 E46. The new M3 is better to live with everyday, better seats, better suspension but still the car accelerate faster and handle better than a M3 E46. It's very noticable that M3 E46 is an old car when you compare it to the new. The M3 V8 is a very well-balanced car and you even if you push the car you feel that the traction is very good. Gustav wanted me to drift in a roundabout becuase he said the car is easy to control and even though he was almost forcing me to do it, I chickening out . First it wasnt my car and if something went wrong I would probably not afford to repair the car so instead we did like 4 laps around the roundabout doing like 90km/h while he was on me to drift but I refused, top on that you got a little bit dizzy My lesson after that is that the new M3 has tons of grip because 90km/h in a small roundabout is fast. For Average Joe, the new M3 is a better car to live with than the old M3. There is plenty of sport and tons of grip for 98% of all the drivers in the world to ever explore. I see no reason to pick the old over the new, well, I have one. If you don't have the cash to buy the new then choose M3 E46. I have yet to try the C63 AMG but the M3 reevs to 8400 rpm, has a manual gearbox, still plenty of grip and speed and that is enough to rank the M3 above C63. C63 might be faster but the new M3 isnt a slow car and has enough speed for the streets. The C63 must be something really special to win me over ![]() The new M3 still got it: -the look, -the speed, -the handling -roadfeel and most important, the new M3 is still a fun car to drive. I have no pictures but the car was white with 19" wheels, its the same M3 you see in the airfield event thread (see my singature). Thanks to Gustav for the testdrive and for a great day. EDIT: Here is a pic of the beast. ![]() Last edited by Just_me; 11-02-2007 at 07:24 AM. |

5 star in each section gives 100%, however you want to colour it. And regarding my future C63 it is well documented its going to be a little harsh ridewise on UK roads so i agree. My point is IMO no car can be truly 100%. Example the interior of the ner M3 doesnt feel 55kGBP therfore cant be given 5star etc. ![]() | |
