Re: Just got the new C Class

Well what kind of pictures did you have in mind. I mean I have posted almost all the interesting aspects of the car and also the interior shots, night shots and detail shots of different things.

You should really read the whole post from start to end and look at the pictures - if you have any more you would like to see I will try and please you.

Re: Just got the new C Class

  • Your car looks awesome!
  • Now I really cant wait for mine to come.
  • I will post some pics of mine in August when it arrives. Will be interesting to see how the contrasting pics look along side one another.
  • Thanks again for the feedback.

Re: Just got the new C Class

I like the design on the car, but I sat in one C200 here in Mercedes Uppsala and the interior felt really plastic. Very very plastic. Maby was a low equiped car, don't know.

The interior is actually a soft leathery material once you go past the center console. And the interior looks a bit spartan, but with the proper colors and trim, it can look very good.

Re: Just got the new C Class

I first saw ambient lighting in the W220 S-Class and did not know what it was, thinking there was some malfunction in the interior lighting. I found it distracting and more of a gimmick than a useful feature. I will have to wait and see how it impresses in my own car if it ever arrives. Still no word on why the Multimedia package is holding up availability until September. A tech at my dealer told me today that it appears there will be a third model (similar to Classic?) that will have an E85 engine which has a different fuel system. There will be two fuel tank materials, steel or plastic, depending on model. As for me, I have no interest in E85.

I notice that the wheels shown in this thread are the stock wheels for the US market Luxury model (different name elsewhere) with no others available.

The mirror noise problem sounds like it might be an issue. Is the noise heard with the windows closed? Certainly larger mirrors are needed since my W203's are far to small, particularly the left side.

Mercedes execution of ambient lighting is brilliant. It's one feature I truly miss now that we've sold the E and got an X5. The X5 has some ambient lighting but its not nearly as convenient and functional as the E's. You end up stabbing in the dark for buttons whereas the E was lit perfectly in all the right places. A small detail Mercedes pays attention to that buyers don't really get an appreciation of on the showroom floor.

Re: Just got the new C Class

Hi Toni,

Congrats !!!!

I am expecting my 320 CDI Avantgarde in August with advanced agility.

As the car has not been launched here in South Africa. I would appreciate however if you could post some photos of the following:-

1. Inside of glove compartment I believe it is climatised/cooled and does it
hold the CD changer?
2. The cup holder in the center console (Slide open) can it hold 1 or 2 cups
and is it also cooled.
3. The boot , from reports I hear there is a step at the back of the boot
floor.

Thanks fuzzzzy
