| Test drive: E500(sport?), C32 AMG, GS350 Since I'm not in Mexico having plenty of safe sex like some of my school mates, I decided to kick my spring break off with a test drive galore. Sorry for the crappy cell phone images. C32 AMG ![]() I thought I'd start of with something compact and wild. Since I hadn't driven an AMG car before I was very exicted to push an AMG car for the first time. More over I have had the perception that MB cars are too comfort orientated and since I'm a hard piped dude I figured the AMG could do it for me. Unfortunately the C32 wasn't exiciting at all. I got slack after as little as a few minutes. First of all the steering feel was terrible, it totally lacked feedback. It felt like I was playing NFS with a MadCatz steering wheel. I didn't feel any connection what so ever with the road. Eventhough it was rocking a good 349hp the ride wasn't exiting at all. Sure it was fast but I kept and kept on going but never reached climax. Now I know why 90% percent of the C-class drivers here in SoCal are young girls. As a matter of fact I was the only guy test driving it at the dealerr. Most of the men were pulling out the new S. Hopefully I will get a chance to try out a facelifted C or the new one. Rating: 2/5(Just becasue I had high expectations) E500(with air suspension) ![]() After my C32 test drive I had lost some of my lust for MB and was almost ready to leave but the sales man was insisting on getting my ass inside an E500 Sport. I was like "Naah I don't think the E is right for me". In Sweden the E is the favroite pension car, almost only old men and hags drive it. Anyhow I took the keys and hopped in. The interior was beige and it has designo marble panels which was sweet. Futher more it offered a higher quality interior than the C32. The E500 had air suspension and I tried both mode but wasn't able to push the car hard enough to feel a difference. Regardless of mode the steering was noticably much responsive and pleacing compared with the C. That was very supring since I was expecting the E to be less sportier than the C. As for the V8 engine, it offered plenty of power. The sound wasn't more of a groal rather than a high pitched mechanic sound like with a GT3 or M3. It was fairy quite except for when I floored it a bit, then one could hear that there is something powerful under the hood. Overall I was supring that I liked the E500, to be honest I loved it. It felt like my type of car. V8, spacious, firm but yet comfortable ride. Rating: 4/5 GS 350 ![]() Since Lexus was just a minute away from the MB dealer I headed over there to check out the new GS. I have had very positive experiences with the new IS and was curious to find out if the GS could make my perception of Lexus even better. Exteriorwise the front of the GS look good but the back is a bit half ugly. Anyway the test drive began with a 10 minutes demostration of some of the cars functions. Suprisingly it had tons of featured which the E doesn't have. Lots of tiny litte cool featured which makes life easier and they are too many too list. But basically the features gave me the impression what it was very convenience orientated like an S-class. Driving it was effortless, thanks to all the sealing the car is very quiet and not that much exterior noise manages to penetrate the cabin. Honestly I thought the ride was too quiet. The car seemed to be a highway cruiser rather than a car you actually "drive" and enjoy. What I dislike about it is that the brakes are too respnsive, which again is perfect for the highway cruiser who has a habit of text messaging people while driving. Touch brake pedal slightly and the car will stop saving you from hitting the car in front of you. Personally the GS isn't a car for me. It is too luxury and comfort orientated but if that's something for you than it's most likely the car for you. Lastly the quality interior was very good too but lacked inspiration, looks like any Japanese luxury car interior. Rating: 4/5 During next week I'll try to find a BMW and Audi dealer to check test their cars. Last edited by admin; 03-27-2007 at 11:23 PM. |

| Re: Test drive: E500(sport?), C32 AMG, GS350 Thanks for sharing the review with us bro... From the picture I gather you test drove the 306bhp E500? When I test drove the GS with my dad he hated it too. Too silent and the engine didn't feel as strong as it should be. |
