Re: Mirage77 checks out the 335i

Good review. Karma given.

I think the 335i Coupe looks really classy.

Re: Mirage77 checks out the 335i

Looking at this pic here, I really am surprized how big and old-fashioned the gearshifter looks when you compare it to the new 6-speed BMW is using in the 5er/X5. I really hope BMW puts the new one in the facelifted 3er as well

You're right klier, it'll look so high-tech with that stick! I was asking Eni about the integration of this X5 gearstick into other models... He never replied.

Well, he doesn't really have to reply to this I guess. I mean, with some logical thinking, it's something that is bound to happen for sure.

Sorry, I guess I had missed your question.

Yes, the stick is a part of new automatic gearbox, and will spread across BMW model line slowly. Facelifted 5er is already getting it. 6er will follow in Fall. X6 ...

Re: Mirage77 checks out the 335i

thanks mirage... Ive driven the 335 sedan quite a bit and can tell you its a great car. If you didnt get the chance to take this thing on some high speed cornering-you only felt half the glory. Also, did you guys shift the lever into sport mode? Throttle responce is a lot quicker and the engine feels much more rev happy. If you've spent time in other flappy paddle cars and are used to one method over the other, it might seem a bit different at first-but given a little time you would get used to it. Pull for up-shifting and-push for down shifting on both sides of the steering wheel. I know your dad's maserati has a flappy paddle gear box that is set up differently-which created the confusion. The M5's is different as well.

I agree, we haven't harnessed the full potential of the car. I'm sure I'd be far more impressed if we had an open road... And less traffic.

Nope, didn't shift it into sport mode. Good to know that there's more to the 335i than I think.

Re: Mirage77 checks out the 335i

Saw a dark-gray 335i this morning, with terracotta/brown leather seats... it had its angel-eyes on... man, what a stunning car! It was sitting pretty low to the ground and it had those really nice 5 or 6-spoke (?) rims.

Great review Mirage77! Karma given

Re: Mirage77 checks out the 335i

Good review mate. But if I'm not mistaken you said that the 335 costs USD135K. Are you serious? It costs $153,000? that's amazing. Why is that by the way?
