Maybach loses its roof

This thing is gangsta!!!

A US car modifier has created a Maybach for all seasons with a soft-top roof that folds into the body. </B>

The world-first convertible version of the million-dollar Maybach 57 limousine is the brainchild of coach builder Genaddi Design Group, which uses a modified version of the Mercedes-Benz CLK soft folding roof.

The convertible conversion costs $209,000 but that's after you've bought the car, which in Australia costs about $1 million.

Genaddi says it used computer aided design to overcome the significant engineering challenges in keeping the body rigid after peeling off the roof and then removing the structural support.

Most car manufacturers shy from building four-door convertibles because rigidity is far more difficult - and costly - to achieve than with a two-door version.

Just in case having one of the only convertible Maybachs around isn't exclusive enough, Genaddi says it has many other options available for an "additional investment".

Oh so they are really pulling thing project off. I saw that chop something like two years ago but I never thought that MB or someonw would go as far as producing a MM cab.

Re: Maybach loses its roof

Umm...... hmm, let me try and find the right words for this... (searching ...)

ah yes, found it: WHOLEY SHNIZZLE MA FIZZLE!!!!!!!

You're damn right about it being Gangsta Alex... WOW.

The AMG rims looks awesome on it too. Heck it's even got the SL55/65 side-vents.
Is thata more aggressive mouth I see on the car.. coz if it is, then this thing is tha sh!t..!! Lovin it.

Ofcourse the whole drop-top thing is just awesome too!!

Wonder if MB will take up on this since Bentley made the Drophead Convertible, and Roller made the 100EX convertible. ??

I think you forgot to mention that blacked-out front grill too.

I'm just wondering whether that's a 'normal' MM 57, or a 57S.

Now if only we could see the back of this thing. If it's anything like an AMG rear-end, then OMG, this thing will be the absolute KING of convertibles..!!

I knew that Genaddi name sounded familiar. It's the same company that made that extra-LWB RR Phantom called the Black Tie..!!

** Just having a second look at those Maybach pics with the convertible roof up, that are PS's huh ?

Guys .... seems like they not only chopped the Maybach, but also the RR Phantom...!!

Yes, those pics are PS jobs, ..but here's the text which makes it clear that they are offerring a drop-top Phantom:

As the perfect highlight to the perfect car, the Rolls Royce Phantom is available from Genaddi Design Group as an open-air car. With our years of working with the finest aluminum bodies we are able to offer this upgrade to you, creating a one in a million driving experience. As you begin this process with the choice of the Tarragon, your car becomes your creation as well with options in color, wood selection, leathers, ultra-suede, top material, theater and audio, chrome wheels, stainless steel or aluminum windshield surrounds and more. It is our privilege to offer you the opportunity to have one of the most unique vehicles of our time with a warrantee that is matched to the factory.
