NM® 2008 Lexus® IS F Special Build Sedan

Pure adrenaline, purely defined

Looking at the picture is enough to give you a head rush. The new 2008 Lexus IS F kicks luxury sedans into high performance heaven. It delivers over 400 heart-pounding horsepower and 350 lb-feet of torque from its 5.0-liter V8, and can take you from 0 to 60 in under 4.9 seconds. It has the world's first eight-speed Sport Direct Shift gearbox and a specially engineered Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management (VDIM) system featuring a high-performance sport mode. And for 50 lucky customers, it will be yours.

This IS F "Special Build" features an Obsidian black exterior with perforated black leather trimmed sports seats, specially chosen white accent stitching, unique steering wheel with white leather accents, front headrests embossed with F logo, numbered Special Build badge and a Mark Levinson® state-of-the-art CD/DVD Premium Surround Sound Audio System with navigation and Bluetooth.

Re: Neiman Marcus Lexus IS-F

Jeez, we don't even know the horsepower on the standard unit and there's already a special edition.

Great...

Hmm, 0-60mph in 4.9seconds, you can add another 0.1 to get to 62mph.. and this with a 8-speed transmission. Hmm.. this car isn't in the league of the new RS4 and M3.

But thumbs up to Lexus for having the balls to taking it up to the Germans. It's only the first generation IS-F so there's room for improvement.

I wouldn't put too faith into press release figures. Furthermore, as the IS350 has already acheived a 0-60 figure within the low 5's, I haven't any doubts the IS-F will out perform it. I'd say 4.5 is easily possible.
