Maybe in power figures and fuel consumption but the engine sound and harmonous characteristics of the inline 6 are on a totally different level. Let me remind you that as an engine configuration the straight 4 cylinder is not a balanced configuration in general.

- S4 best seat comfort for the driver, 335i on second place and C55 on last place.
- 335i most comfortable suspension, C55 on second place and S4 on last place.

Brake distance 100m - 0
S4 = 35 meter
335i = 35.5 meter
C55 = 37,1 meter

Acceleration 60 - 100km/h
S4 = 3.2 sec
335i = 3.1 sec
C55 = 2.7 sec

Acceleration 80 - 120km/h
S4 = 3.7 sec
335i = 3.5 sec
C55 = 3.3 sec

Maximum Nm
S4 - 410 nm at 3500 rpm
335i - 400 nm between 1300-5500 rpm
C55 - 510 nm at 5100 rpm

S4 - 55 800 euro

I am most impressed about the comfort review of the 335i, given its excellent handling abilities and numbers. Of course, this must be attributed to the new and stiffer E90/E92 frame, allowing it to have more suspension travel and spring while maintaining excellent handling (ie keeping the tires on the road). For the W203 C55, the only way they could improve the handling over the previous W203 C32 was to make the suspension 20% firmer, causing the ride comfort to decrease.

Thanks for the data about rolling acceleration times. Frankly, it's not too suprising that the C55 would take the crown here, with its massive torque that's available relatively low in the rpm range.

Just_me, do you have the weights of these 3 wagons?

its sick that M5 E60 only produce 10 nm more than the little C-class

I only have "empty" weight:
S4 - 1720 kg
335i - 1615 kg
C55 - 1620 kg

S4 is 100kg heavier thanks to 4WD

Same goes when we compare a I6 to a V8. The V8 is superior.

What makes you say that? In this competition, the 335i takes on the V8s and win. It's lighter and more fuel efficient, yet performs as well.
