Cars that did or did not impress at the LA auto show. part 2

Ok i did this last year so I thought I would do it again this year. It seems when you see the car in person it makes a much different impression on you then what you would see in photos. This was definitely the case this year. Each car, ones that I had previously liked or disliked made a positive or negative impression on me. Its pretty interesting to see what car dissapoint, and what cars really impress. Ill use a star system. 5* is best 0* is the worst.

Audi: I have to say I was pretty damn impressed with the entire Audi range.

R8: Ok this was one of the first cars that I saw and i have to admit, it is a damn good looking car. The shape, fit and finish, and overal look of the thing is so impressive. I was drooling over it. It was absolutely gorgeous. I give it
5*.

RS4: Another Beauty. Ive seen it before and knew what to expect more or less but for some reason it really did impress me. I took note of the finer details. The fit and finish was spectacular and the whole package is quite impressive-price is unfortunately wrong though....
4.5*

S6: I wasnt too impressed with this car. Its definitely nice, but it just didnt have it. It wasnt an ugly car but then again nothing spectacular. It seems like its a lot less car than the M5 and even the rear seats on the 5 series have a lot more room. But its still nice and fit and finish are still very well done.
3*

Problems with audi...Well the problem with audi is that all the cars look the same and unfortunately if you dont like the huge grill your screwed because thats all they sell at audi...

BMW:

335i coupe: A beauty. The one they had at the show was blue with a red interior. It reminded me of an M car and even the interior creams performance. THe car was manual and looks like the screamer it is. Its a sweet car, and if i had 50k to drop on a car right now you know id be in this thing in a blink of an eye.
5*

X5: Believe it or not i was pretty dissapointed in this car, it didnt look that great right away. The interior is beautiful but the outside design leaves something to be desired. Its almost as though it isnt edgy enough. The panels are pretty rounded and it just didnt pop out-so sad to say, it was dissapointing...It has to grow on me.
2.5*

M coupe: I like it. It has everything I like about the car. I wanted to adress some of your complaints about interior space, so I sat in the car and I didnt think it was half bad. I really like being low down with the huge bonnet at a nice eye level. Im 6'1" to so its not like im a small guy. I think it looks hot too. Its got it all. Would I get it over a 335i coupe? No i dont think so.
4*

The BMW display is always very crowded for some reason-every year.

Mercedes:

CL63: A general dissapointment. The huge body and the lack of styling from in person left me feeling a bit cold towards it. THey had an CL 63 there too and i couldnt get into it. The window line is pretty odd as well. It almost looks snobbish...Anyway i wasnt impressed at with this car and I thought it was rather boring compared to the pictures we saw.
2*

S63: This is nice. I always liked the S class and the AMG stuff ultimately helps it quite a bit. It really is attractive but ultimately very expected. It didnt leave me with a too positive feeling. It was nice, but honestly nothing special.
3.5*

GL: I really like the GL. I think its a great looking car and it seems to have all the right proportions. Its a beauty actually and I think one of mercedes strongest cars in the line up. For some reason i am always impressed with Merc SUVs.
4*

Porsche:

GT3: The GT3 is hot no doubt, its a beauty and always will be. i probably came into the display with too high of expectations for it. Its a gorgeous just not as gorgeous in person as i was hoping it would be. Nevertheless its still the ultimate 911 and always will be.
3*

Targe: Ok this car was actually very attractive. The window line along with the chrome framing adds so much to the 997 body still. They came in pretty wild colors as well. The one I saw was a metallic orange color, which added to its rating.
4.5*

TT: A beauty. The wheels are just a bit too garish but ill tell you what, this car looks like its meant to haul tail. Its so damn fast and very sexy as well. The shape of the fender flares and the whale tale is discreet but at the same time friggin awesome.
4*

Lamborghini:

Gallardo: Its a given that these are going to be rated very highly because lamborghinis hold special place my heart. Oh and they look the part too. Its probably one of the best looking cars i have ever seen-of course that is expected from this company. Really a spectacular car. It is, btw the niro virsion. If you guys remember thats the limited adition gallardo with panels that are painted in a matte finish.
4.5*

LP640: This is an absolute beauty. Every detail is beautiful. The tail lights have these wild L.E.D. shape. Its just a gorgeous car all around. For me it would be a tad too big and "look at me" ish
4.5*

Ill do more lately im so tired. No sleep last night, up all night doing essays for school. Peace.

Thanks for your honest feedback, Matt. Greatly appreciated.

BTW, how is the RS4 priced there? It's not more than an M3 on this side of the world...

M3 here starts at 49k while the RS4 starts at 66k. That's 17k jump over the M3.

To matt..dude I can't believe you didn't like the CL. I saw one the other night and my god was a beautiful. I couldn't take my eyes off of it. Still haven't seen the 3er coupe yet..can't wait to see one. Anyways, nice write up. You got any pics?
