Re: Top Gear Awards 2006

The Jaguar XK also took the AutoExpress COTY award, go figure

Congrats to Audi, the TT really is a great little coupe.

Re: Top Gear Awards 2006

All these photographs have been taken in Bombay,India.

And why on earth will Topgear,a English magazine want to click their cars in Bombay, especially when none of them are on sale here.

Look at the TT on the trailer, did Topgear just outsource their COTY awards to India.

They take the XK over the M6 or V8 Vantage.
I really dislike Top Gear for being so Jaguar biased.

Re: Top Gear Awards 2006

Audi TT crashed the competition. As they say:

"The Audi TT has always been a looker, but now it has the performance to match. You can thrash the TT from hairpin to S-bend without ever feeling out of your depth"

Well, almost all British mags/shows are biased towards their own kind - can't really get rid of national pride. I remember an XK review which JC did... He said he loved the exhaust note when it really sounds like a tractor.

Perhaps they wanted to do a feature on India in their next issue? Well whatever it is, I agree that it's weird on their part to film at such a faraway location.

Re: Top Gear Awards 2006

The TT is an excellent choice, but I would have given the best GT nomination to the 335i coupe.

Re: Top Gear Awards 2006

I don't know that much about the other selections but I did drive a 2007 XK Connvetible and I was impressed. I posted some comments on the Jag thread. I read a review of the XKR also and it was a very positive review as most have been on this car. I could certainly become a really great fan of the coupe in either the XK or the XKR. Quite a ride...
