LS460: 143ft

From 80mph

S550: 229ft
LS460:251ft

So there you go, the LS460 doesn't brake as well as the S550..

Yep, 100% agreed As for the North American market, they don't really have any problems there, maybe selling Lexus' in Europe is just a low priority for them
Yep, I remember that Car and Driver comparison and how the LS didn't brake that well. But who needs good brakes when the car can park itself. j/k

Lexus does indeed seem half-hearted about Europe. No engine choices, no trim level options and totally off taste with the European mentality.

Hey thanks for that. It's interesting how the Phaeton can brake so well when it's the heaviest of the lot.

Re: Autozeitung: LEXUS RX 400H vs BMW X3 3.0sd

This is my first post here.
see in the C&D test the Mercedes S and Lexus LS were on all weather tyres, where as the BMW 7 ,Jaguar XJ and Audi A8 were on standard summer tyres.

The S550 outbreaks the LS and stops fairly close to the 7-series and A8,the XJ is lightest and hence it stops very well, this shows that the S-class has the best brakes and the LS the worst.
