German All-Wheel Drive Cars Hey all, I was just wondering what the guys here at GermanCarZone would think about this issue. As I've said, I'm helping my dad buy a new car, and he kinda wants something sporty, automatic, and AWD, and he's a lawyer, so a WRX automatic is a bit boy-racer for him. We've basically narrowed it down to 2 choices that he's interested in, and price is a factor in this comparison. I, personally, want Dad to get a car with a good amount of "Smile Factor" because I think that's what it comes down to in the end. So, price as a factor and Smile Factor as a motivator, which car of the following would you buy/recommend?

Re: German All-Wheel Drive Cars I'm not too strong on Audi's lineup, but can you get Quattro on any engine? What size engine are we talking about for your dad's A4? Anyway, I really believe that these are the 2 best cars in this segment. Of course, I would go for the BMW because I've worked a lot with the E90. I find it beautiful and it's a blast to drive. Keep in mind that with the 325, you are getting a 6 cylinder, so that makes a difference to me.

Re: German All-Wheel Drive Cars Very easy choice for me. The Audi A4. When I think 4WD, I always think Audi & Subaru. And IMO the A4 looks much better then the 3series, especially with the S-line, DTM or SPortQuattro package. Good luck with your choice.

Re: German All-Wheel Drive Cars Yes, sorry, we would be talking about the 2.0T in the A4. Since my dad always swore he would never spend over $30,000 on a car, and now he's cross-shopping a BMW and an Audi, don't expect him to pop up to the 330xi or the 3.2 so quickly. I have a feeling there won't be any S-Line body kits, no any sport packages involved. I don't think he'll even step it up for rims, unless the dealer includes them no-cost.

Re: German All-Wheel Drive Cars I would choose 325ix because A4 is starting to get old and I think a new generation is around the corner?

Re: German All-Wheel Drive Cars I think the Audi is the more attractive car, I don't know much about the Quattro setup vs the x-drive...if someone could post some more info that would be sweet.... I would tune that Audi if it was the 2.0 Turbo ![]()
