So, we already have news of the CLK63. It`s power numbers are impressive to say the least. The car hasn`t been tested yet but it`s performance should be impressive.

Now we already know how well the M6 performs.
It`s track times are impressive, however it doesn`t out perform the
CLK-DTM on the track!

With horsepower and torque combined the CLK63 is in fact 6% more powerful
than the V10 in the M6!!

My question is do you believe the new CLK63 will be closer to the CLK-DTM performance wise this time. If so it will surly give the M6 a run for it`s money.

CLK63 vs M6, strange comparison. Should be a big price difference.
CLK63 wont accelerate faster than M6, nowhere CLK63 is going to accelerate faster than E63/CLS63 and M6.

M6 is a GT crusier and not a 100% trackcar, M6 CLS will be the trackcar. I dont have any weight figures for CLK63 but I believe it weigh less than the M6 so I expect it will beat the M6 around a track. Next M3 is going to be faster than M6 around a track. So the fight will be between CLK63 and M3 V8. Later there will also be a M3 CSL.

CLK-DTM is racing car, equipped with R-tires just like BMW CSL versions. So no I dont think CLK63 will be as a CLK-DTM on a track, besides, CLK-DTM has 100 horsepowers more than CLK63.

So with a 6% more power advantage, you don`t believe the CLK63 will be faster than M6, thats strange logic. I wouldn`t pass judgement so quickly!

The track numbers shoud be about equal if not better!
I can`t wait to see the results.

Thats a good question, remember the Torque is equal in all these cars.
The CLK63 just has a 33hp disadvantage, not that much.

whats the 0-100km/h Factory time of the M6 btw.

horses and torque isnt everything. Weight, areodynamics and gearing are also important factors.

Both M5 or M6 are similar in acceleration to E55/CLS65 to 100km/h, it at higher speeds the M6 is faster. A good 0-100 time is about a fast start and grip. Its easier to improve a 0-250 time than 0-100km/h.

BTW , the comparison is kinda odd , though CLK 63 is a promising performer , ofcourse not like the DTM but closer to it than the M6 is a for sure thing , AMG's new gifted freedom in tuning the MBs means the CLK63 is a better all arround performer than the M6 , besides it's less weight and more powerfull and the engine will be sitting further from the front end of the car (the same will be done to all 6.3s) so that will give it a better more agile driving experience . All I have to say and ask for is that AMG MBs are to be at a different class of performance than what ever was previous , cant wait to see the performance figures this time ....

Im with you on the track but not in straightline performance. Dont you think it would be a mistake if MB made CLK63 to accelerate faster than CLS63?

The car mags will most likly compare thse two cars. Thay already compared
the BMW 645i to the MB CLK500 which would be considered odd but the CLK500 won.
